Breathtaking. Ben Carson tells CNN host Brianna Keilar that she shouldn't be offended by Trump's comments because that is how men talk about their sexual conquests. She's the one with the problem since she hasn't heard that men talk like this.

I can't for the life of me figure out why the GOP gets a bad rep with women.

    I know!

Texas Republican Rep. Blake Farenthold was asked on MSNBC whether he would still support Trump even if the Republican presidential nominee said he liked raping women, Farenthold suggested he might — eventually adding he'd “consider it.”

    Here's the exchange:

HAYES: If a tape came out with Donald Trump saying that — if a tape came out with Donald Trump saying that, saying “I really like to rape women,” you would continue to endorse him.

FARENTHOLD: Again, it would, I — that would be bad, and I would have to consider — I'd consider it. But again, we're talking about what Donald Trump said 10 years ago as opposed to what Hillary Clinton has done in the past two or three years.

Farenthold quickly apologized after the interview was over.

I can say I've heard lewd talk, but it was usually on the part of teenagers, not from men who are supposedly mature. Trump at the time was older than I am now. And I gradually came to realize that most of the talk was just that. That Trump at supposedly mature age (and he's talked much the same in more recent years) would indulge in such boasting ... well, I'll say no more.

Sad to say, lewd talk is much more acceptable in general society than it was when I was growing up (flashing my curmodgeon badge here).

The fact that Carson can talk of "conquests" in a sexual sense is troubling. I've never had a conquest, and if I did I would certainly not talk about it. Do you suppose Carson would boast of a "conquest" if he had one? I don't think so. He's trapped in the Trump flypaper and doesn't know how to get out.

I'm just so over the GOP and that man, and the continued justification. And the condescension add though folks are weird for not having heard folks talk like that in a locker room.

Now the GOP deserves to lose the Presidency, the House and the Senate.

I am waiting for the next shoe to drop and I fully expect it to be even more obnoxious and obscene than the last. I expect we will see at least one such shoe drop a week until the election.

For those who defend Trump I have one question.

If a man walked up and grabbed your wife, daughter or granddaughter, what would your reaction be?

Undoubtedly it would be different if Bill Clinton did it vs. Donald Trump doing it.

If it was between letting the man do that and losing the Presidential election to Hillary Clinton, I think you'd be surprised how many would justify a "rational" way for it to be done.

Idolatry doesn't care. It just wants it's way.
