TV Dads

    Are there any strong TV dads on current TV shows?

    Back in the day - we had Father Knows Best, Leave it to Beaver, Andy Griffin....

    But beginning in the late 60's dads got to be the butt of the joke - a weak family leaders.

    Found this on ImDb - Esther Rolle ( portrayed Florida Evans on Good Times) was compelled to fight racial stereotypes, she insisted before accepting the series that a strong father figure be central in the show (actor John Amos). And while she still played the role of a lower middle-class maid, the show's emphasis was to be on her home and family life, not her outside work.

    So what are your thoughts about Dads on current TV shows?

    Huh? I don't remember the Cleavers ever attending church as a family. Just one early episode mentioned the boys being sent off to Sunday School.
