    I was there in 1965, transitioning from CONUS to SHAPE. Miserable place. :)

    My son-in-law was based at Lakehurst when he met my daughter

    As of 2009 McGuire, Fort Dix and Lakehurst became a joint base.

    I know them both well. Worked there as a paramedic.

    Saw The Band and a bunch of great bar fights at the Satellite in Wrightstown

    Kind of weird, since Dix/Maguire isn't really anywhere near Lakehurst.

    This is neither here nor there, but since I brought it up in a previous post, I'm currently reading a biography of Jimmy Buffett. In it, one of the places they list him having played on his way up was the Satellite in Wrightstown back when the Coral Reefer Band was just him, Fingers Taylor, and Roger Bartlett.
