Reformed Baptist theologian Timothy George is nearing his thirty year anniversary as head of Beeson!

The school posted some flashback pictures from his life:

    To whom it may concern:

I am proud to call him and his wife my friends and colleagues. We had the privilege of going on a "Retrace the Reformation" tour with Union University in 2007. We went to all the places in E. Germany where Luther was, went to Geneva where Calvin was, and oh so many other places. Dr. George lectured and led worship in the various places. What a trip as I remember!!!

I was also privileged to have him write a chapter in a book Dr. David Dockery and I edited on John A. Broadus (see my credits). I am glad to the Lord Christ for giving me the opportunity to preach, teach, research, and write; and especially to be around people like Dr. TimothyGeorge and Dr. Christian George.

I am a well blest man indeed!

Thanks be to the Lord. Thanks too for posting this.

Yes, the young man in the the T-shirt is his son Christian George, who is in charge of the Spurgeon Library now. He wrote a book Christian George, Sacred Travels: Recovering the Ancient Practice of Pilgrimage about such trips. What a treat that must have been for you!

    Jerome,

I told Dr. Christian George that I had done a rhetorical reading of one of Spurgeon's sermons, supplied it to him, he was impressed with it, and was going to post it on his blog. So I have had relations with most of the family. What a privilege it has been for me and my family to know the George's.

Bless the Father, bless the Son, bless the Holy Spirit for these opportunities.
