    "Greed" is not a sin reserved for the wealthy or successful, often it is most pitiably a sin which the most destitute are consumed with.

    There is nothing more pathetic perhaps than a poor man consumed with material greed, and it manifests itself all the time.

    Yes there is, it is the greed of the wealthy. Not all wealthy are greedy for more. In the past many have set up charities. Guinness set up a housing charity, Guy's hospital and many of our old hospitals were as well in the past. In the village of Biddenden in Kent there is a tradition of the Maids of Biddenden or Ye Mayds. They were siamese twins who owned land in the village and left a charity to benefit the poor of the village. No one knows if they actually existed but the charity must have come from somewhere.
