I realize that here in America we often justify bad behavior by pointing to other bad behavior, which is what we all did in the 3rd grade. But as Christians we really are held to a higher standard.

Let’s avoid bringing up horror stories from the last apostate or heretical Baptist church that we attended, to justify what the pagans are doing. There is also a big difference between sin in a Baptist church and a doctrine of sin in the RCC.

While I do agree that the HS can use sickness, longing, and loss to convert the sinner. I don’t agree that he will cause this lady to commit sin in order to bring this man to Christ.

It looks pretty bad when a pagan is telling her that she will be committing adultery, but her Baptist church is not?? Again, the Bible is very clear and except for fornication, this woman will be committing adultery if she were to marry this man.

We do it in the political arena as well

Suddenly you want to avoid the Sins of Baptists but heap hot coals onto others..a see no evil approach. But I understand your concerns... it’s institutional evil your denouncing. Brother, sin is sin and this is what Christ came into the world to save us from. And that’s a heavy burden for sinful creatures to have to rationalize, “that they are all sinners living in a fallen world.” Now I agree that Roman Catholicism engenders sin
In their full organization but we here in New Jersey know that there are souls in that institution struggling to escape, so we work with them to become children of God.

Again, I am not suggesting that she do anything other than work with him to realize his sins and hopefully see the light.

There is an old saying from the reformers in Geneva... First darkness then light.

I would use that as a teachable moment to both correct his own faulty understanding and disprove the RCC teaching on the matter. Rev. Mitchell was correct in his earlier post on this.

Definitely not, but the topic at hand is Catholic hypocrisy not Baptist. That’s another topic for another thread. I was just simply pointing out that it is not right to use the “well they are doing it too” argument when speaking of sin in the church.

“we here in New Jersey know that there are souls in that institution struggling to escape, so we work with them to become children of God.”

Outstanding! That is good to hear that you are fighting for the souls of deceived Catholics. If they are struggling to escape, then they know that they are part of a deceptive and wicked organization. But we both know that intentions do not equal salvation.

“Again, I am not suggesting that she do anything other than work with him to realize his sins and hopefully see the light.”

Great then for the most part we are in agreement. But she needs guidance not in the area of soul winning, which is first priority, but in the area of marriage. And before she breaks one of God’s commandments, she needs to be told the truth.

By whom? You!?What she should be doing is going to her pastor and working it out with him...or get a Christian councelor who can be unbiased... bring Captain Catholic if he is willing to marry her and allow the counselor to work it out. Neither you or I should be interfering with her life.

Yes by me, and you and whoever else is willing to tell her the truth for her own good.

I agree she should be going to her pastor, but she is posting on a board. This shows the failure of leadership in her church.

I am giving her advice, of which she has asked for and obviously needs. So, no one here is interfering with anything…lol.

I agree who does the saving here?... Does Jesus Christ save or is it the church?... Is Jesus Christ a denominational Savior?... I believe everyone of every denomination check your Bibles... In fact check these scriptures... Do you personally know a persons heart and soul from the cradle to the grave?... Not unless you've walked in their shoes... From the cradle to the grave HE WILL SAVE!... Salvation is given by God by his grace... Did you think you deserved or earned it?... THINK AGAIN!... Mull on these scripture when you think you do... Brother Glen:)

Romans 5:6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

5:7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.

5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

5:10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
