Below is an OP from 2006. It's not mine. It was written by @bjonson.

I thought it was a good question for the C vs A forum. Maybe we can create an impressive list of Arminian scholars for him.

I'm hoping to learn much from this thread.

I am a layman, like most of the folks who frequent here, and I have never been to seminary. I'm hoping some who are better educated can assist.

When I think of biblical, solid theologians, I think of the Puritans (which includes Whitefield, Edwards, Owen and Spurgeon, in my view), Matthew Henry, James Boice, Wayne Grudem, Arthur Pink, Louis Berkhoff, B.B Warfield, etc.

In all of these cases, they were Calvinistic in their soteriology.

And, with the exception of Wesley, I can't think of any non-Calvinistic theologians at all. I truly want to know if there are any.

    Thanks for the feedback.

Mathew Henry and his commentary are not Calvinistic in soteriology. He was moderate Calvinist at most.

    Here are a few others

    G . E. Ladd(baptist), F. F. Bruce (brethren), Oliver B. Greene(baptist), Henry Ironside(brethren) , David H Stern (messianic jew), Spiros Zodihates ( greek scholar), A. W. Tozer(missionary alliance) .

All of these theologians are non-5 point calvinist or non-calvninsts and neither are they considered Arminian, however technically they are Arminian in their soteriology.

Leighton Flowers(southern Baptist) is one from today who is quite active on this topic.
He has a site SOTERIOLOGY 101 which is very informative to the non-Calvinist doctrines and also he references a lot of other non-Calvinist theologians.

Arminian theologians that come to mid are
obviously Jacob Arminus, and some others are
Adam Clark(Methodist) & Arno Gaebelein(Methodist). Craig Keener also, He is a more recent one.

Gordon Fee (Assembly of God) and Robert Picirilli are both Arminian. I see Clarke is already listed. There's also John Goodwin, Thomas Helwys.

I attended his lectures long ago (not on soteriology). I don't believe he is a Calvinist.

Roger Olson, a classical Arminian who teaches at George W. Truett Theological Seminary of Baylor University. Worth reading.

I may be wrong, but I think Enns is a Calvinist.

We could list non-traditional Calvinists like N.T. Wright and Karl Barth.

From what i've studied on Karl Barth, He's more reformed and Drifts from Orthodoxy, particularly his views on the Scriptures.
