California Baptist University partners with Red Skelton Foundation for Bachelors Degree in Comedic Arts:

"Cal Baptist, located in Riverside, is one of three universities in the United States with a major in Comedic Arts and the only one on the West Coast or with a Christian focus to the degree, said John Pate, who launched the program in fall 2016."

Students "agree to perform clean comedy. Christianity is a focus, given the university’s mission statement as a 'Christ-centered educational experience.' One of the required courses in the 36-unit major is 'Comedy in Christian Ministries'....ministers...could do their job much better if they had better stage presence...Pate said."

 

Corban University—Farming

Will be "the only private Christian college with an agricultural program west of the Rockies....Agribusiness will be offered as a concentration under the Hoff School of Business....The university completed a feasibility report on building the new school in 2016, and recently purchased an additional 78 acres contiguous to campus....The ultimate goal...is for Corban to introduce its own college of agricultural studies, with full majors in agribusiness, agricultural science and agricultural missions"

 

Bryan College, a fundamentalist school in Tennessee, announces new undergraduate program in the martial arts:

Martial Arts Academy - Bryan College

"Bryan College’s Martial Arts Academy is a leadership development program designed to provide students with a balanced mix of martial arts training and spiritual formation. Beginning in the fall of 2018, students in this four-year program will have the opportunity to work towards a black belt in Isshinryu karate or their 1st and 2nd degree. Students will receive credit for their training and have opportunities to compete annually in weapons kata, empty hand kata, and point fighting**. In addition to martial arts training, students will develop a biblical worldview as well as the ability to think and communicate well to others."

 

Trinity now catering to the autistic with special needs program:

Trinity’s new Access Program supports students with autism spectrum disorder

"Trinity International University has launched the Access Program, designed to provide enhanced learning opportunities and educational support to young adults with autism spectrum disorder."

"'We want to provide academic opportunities for students who learn in different ways,' vice president for Academic Administration Tom Cornman said. 'We are not aware of any other schools within the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities that are providing such a pathway to baccalaureate degrees'"

"The Access Program will provide one-on-one mentoring sessions...tools for daily living and social skills...scheduled study sessions...and social events....Access Program participants will pay an additional $2,000 per semester"
