What are your opinions on him?
I see him as a false teacher to put it kindly. Am I being too harsh or am I perhaps wrong?

Yes you are being to harsh. I have been to his church, I have worked with his people in ministry and I can tell you he is not a false teacher.

I would not say a false teacher, but would say that he would not be one to be teaching the deeper things of the faith to Christians, as he seems to be giving forth the ole "God has a great plan for you, God wants to be your friend" theology, being seeker friendly!

Would not use that term, but would see many problems in his "seeker friendly" theology!

I do, as we went thru his book, and have heard him speak many times, and his theoly would be "lets cater to the lost and make them feel good about themselves and jesus"

That doesn't add up to "would say that he would not be one to be teaching the deeper things of the faith to Christians,"

I have not read anything from him that would be good to mature saved Christians...

and I am telling you I know you are wrong because I have been to his church and I have worked with his people in ministry when I was on the rez. Somehow you think because you have read some things he has taught that you know everything about him. You don't

Definitely a mixed bag. I like this summation.

I read someone described his church and those like in Chicago produce believers as a river"mile wide, but inch deep"

I watched this documentary about 4 years ago. It put up some legitimate red flags up about Rick Warren and the emergent church movement.

I too would resist the false teacher label for Warren right now, but I would also resist full endorsement. I think there are some problems with the modern church model. While the community of believers is shrinking in America, mega Churches are growing and being run more and more like corporations. And I fear they are filled with a lot of tares, more than we should normally expect. And I fear these tares are not being warned in the Church about their unbelief.

There are some exceptions. Some mega churches are driven by God's word and filled with believers. I attended MacArthur's churches a couple decades ago and found that to be the case. But others grow via marketing principles that have no place in Scripture. And I think Rick Warren has played a big part in this.

I do not agree with everything Warren has said but he is not emergent at all. His people are sound biblically and are far more missional than most churches I have seen.

Sometimes it just seems tht they are offended to mention to lost sinners just how bad they really are, and that the Lord grace is there for them, not trying to bring them to Christ by making them feel good and feel confident and good about themselves. Wonder how much marketing the Apostles did in their time? How seeker friendly was paul?

Not saying he is a cult, but isn't "missional" the number one characteristic of most cults? High level of missions is not necessarily a good thing.

Is there a possibility that your discernment is off?

Someone went way out of their way to create this...

Rick Warren, Brian Brodersen and the Lies of Chrislam

Wait what? Since when is a Christian being missional a characteristic of being in a cult? Where did you find such an idea?

Well, if we can create and edit a video and place someones idea about someone else online then it must be true.
