After Jesus has made his identity known to his disciples and proclaimed that some standing there would see the kingdom of God, Jesus takes Peter, James and John up a mountain to pray. As Jesus is praying, his face shines and his clothes appear dazzling with blazing light. The three disciples see him speaking with two men identified as Moses and Elijah. Peter suggested building tabernacles (shelter) for Moses, Elijah and Jesus. The disciples hear the voice of God speak from a cloud (Shekinah, place of his presence/glory) and he says, this is My beloved Son, my chosen one, listen to him." (reverently, implicitly and Him alone) afterwards Jesus was left alone, and they departed from the mountain. Many would say to see Jesus transfigured was to see the kingdom of God as "It was said, as he entered Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, 'Blessed is the kingdom of our father David that comes in the name of the Lord!' (Mark 11:10). This could also be implied in Jesus' words, 'The Kingdom of God is within you' (Luke 17:20, 21), which may be translated 'in the midst of you." The trinity clique of Jesus kept their experience quiet.

Q: What is the message to us?

Mar 9:7 And there came a cloud overshadowing them, and there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, 'This is My Son—the Beloved, hear ye him;'
The message IMO. was an introduction of the Son of God and to pay attention to what He says.
