Trying to remove Confederate history...

    The New-Age-Liberals are trying to remove all teaching about the American Confederacy from schools, history boox, etc. Sorry, John Birch, but the CSA is a fact of history that cannot be denied truthfully. There are many thousands of photos of soldiers on both sides, and of the aftermaths of battles, & tens of thousands of letters written by soldiers to their families.as well as detailed newspapar accounts, & the memoirs of hundreds of combatants. Obsers from many other nations, especially Britain, chronicled many of its events.

    And, while slavery was a contributing factor, of course, the MAIN issue was STATES' RIGHTS. Many Southerners were also opposed to slavery, but didn't know how to abolish it without causing problems. And many Northerners were against abrupt abolotion, as they feared an influx of black workers with their same skills, who would be willing to work for less.

    The Liberals have done stupid stuff such as removing monuments to CSA generals while knowing nothing about them. Many of those men were opposed to slavery!

    But the MOST-ASININE move I've ever seen in this field is that of a TV network that runs many old shows in syndication, taking off the old Dukes Of Hazzard because their iconic Dodge Charger is named "General Lee" & has a CSA flag painted on its top!

    Face it, [Liberals]; the history of the Civil War won't go away!

    Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation proves the Civil War wasn't over slavery. For those of you who forgot what it says, Lincoln tried to use slavery as an incentive for the South to give up the war. Also, the South, unlike the North, banned international slave trader before the Civil War.

    Erasing Confederate history is an effort to erase American history. Actually, they don't want to erase all of this history, they just want to erase any positive representation of the old south.

    If you watch the blu-ray of the Dukes of Hazzard movie, you'll see that the Confederate Flag, there when the film was made, 2005, has been erased from the that Dodge Charger.

    They want to erase as much as they can about our founding. In doing so they want to delegitimize the founders because they want to change the constitution in order to gain more control centrally. The final goal is losing American sovereignty. This is why they hate Trump so much.

    Anyone who is considering removing history should watch the third season of Amazon Prime Video's "The Man in the High Castle" and take notice of the Year Zero Project. One should be quickly dissuaded from wanting to remove history.

    I'm talking about the TV show. Every rerun I've ever seen has the CSA flag on the car.

    Something the New-Age-Liberals overlook-at least 2 famous CSA generals were devout Christians-their 2nd-most-famous general Stonewall Jackson, & Lee's cavalry leader, J. E. B. Stuart.(Who may be related to King James 1 of Britain)

    Jackson & his wife owned 6 slaves, who were treated as household servants, well-housed, fed, & clothed. Jackson had a Sunday school for them, & other blacks, especially freedmen.

    Stuart's family owned 9 slaves, also treated as household servants. I don't know about the slaves mentioned above, but many owners often treated their household slaves as family members. This went on for awhile, even when the war was over, only difference being their legal status.

    They've been rewriting history for years. In KY they now want to call it Forced Migration instead of slavery.

    My great, great grand daddies on all sides of my family were Confederate Army vets, and I admire and respect them for their devotion to their state. I think that most of the volunteers on either side were there in support of their individual states. It is my understanding that Robert E. Lee wanted to lead the Union Army, but because the state of Virginia was in the Confederacy, he went the way of his state.

    It is my personal feeling that even though the war's cause may not have been about slavery, God gave victory to the north in order to bring a quick end to slavery. I don't think that anyone on this discussion board would be happy to wake up one morning and find himself living in a scenario where it is legal and acceptable for one human to claim ownership of another human.

    Despite what any of us feel, I say keep the monuments. History is history and should not be forgotten.
