I assume you are making a reference to this:

[John 1:1 NASB] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Word = “λόγος” = lógos = Strong’s G3056 = something said (including the thought); by implication, a topic (subject of discourse), also reasoning (the mental faculty) or motive; by extension, a computation; specially, (with the article in John) the Divine Expression (i.e. Christ)

    God = θεός = theós = Strong’s G2316 = a deity, especially (with G3588) the supreme Divinity; figuratively, a magistrate;

“Word” (Logos) is a Greek Nominative Masculine Singular Noun.
“God” (Theos) is a Greek Nominative Masculine Singular Noun.

So God is NOT a title, God is “theos” and is a direct reference to the Supreme Deity. John 1:1 is clearly and unambiguously stating that Jesus (the Word) is God (the Supreme Deity).

Since you have started off this poorly, there is little point in examining the rest of your “facts”.

What prevails is the Word of God. God is a title, the Word is God, yeah, the Word is the Invisible God.
When God revealed to Moses around 2.500 years after Adam, saying to him that "In the beginning" were created the heavens and the earth, He - God - was speaking of a Person and not of a "verb" - begin - in fact God was presenting JESUS to Moses, but the name of JESUS could not be revelead yet, evidently, then Moses did write: "In the beginning - in JESUS - God created the heavens and the earth...

What prevails is the Word of God. And John, the Apostle, wrote: John 1:1-3

1 In the beginning - in JESUS - was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made.

And the author of Hebrews wrote: Hebrews 1:v.1-3

God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

2 Hath in these last Days -
    last two Days or two thousand years - spoken unto us by His Son, whom He hath appointed heir of all things, by whom - by JESUS - also He made the worlds;

3 Who being the brightness of His glory, and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:

Now we are living in the time of Apocalypse. The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ; and He shall reign for ever and ever. Rev.11:v.15

    Acts 3:v.19-24

19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

20 And He shall send - AGAIN - Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:

21 Whom the HEAVEN - not the physical space of Universe or Air - must receive until the times of RESTITUTION of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began.

22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; Him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever He shall say unto you.

23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

24 Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.

Someone else had used ‘air’ and ‘earth’ in their post and I was responding to a post questioning the ‘air’ as naive since it did not account for galaxies. I was just pointing out that Genesis 1:1 contains an idiom that may have been intended literally or as a figure of speech for God created everything from the highest to the lowest. The phrase “Heaven and Earth” is STILL used as a figure of speech in English.

    The actual words are:

שָׁמַיִם shâmayim, shaw-mah'-yim; dual of an unused singular שָׁמֶה shâmeh; from an unused root meaning to be lofty; the sky (as aloft; the dual perhaps alluding to the visible arch in which the clouds move, as well as to the higher ether where the celestial bodies revolve)

אֶרֶץ ʼerets, eh'-rets; from an unused root probably meaning to be firm; the earth (at large, or partitively a land)

Air and land are one valid translation, so are heavens and earth, or Heaven and Earth. As a Hebrew idiom, it simply means “everything”.

As I have said, what prevails is the Word of God. God is a title, The Word is God, the Invisible God. To hear speaking of Him is different of to know Him. JESUS left very clear, saying: All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal Him.

What man knows the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knows no man, but the Spirit of God.

But as it is written, Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love Him.
But God has revealed them unto them that loves Him by His Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, yea, the deep things of God.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was God. Simple: The Word is God, who revealed this was the Holy Spirit. God is Spirit. the Invisible God. JESUS said: I and my Father - the Most High God - are One. The Word - God the Father - was made flesh, and what was the NAME He did choose for Himself in His birth here in the earth? JESUS said on His prayer to the Father: John 17:v.4-6

4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

5 And now, O Father, glorify thou ME with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

6 I have manifested thy NAMe unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy Word.

JESUS is the stone which was set at nought of builders, which is become the head of the corner.
There is no salvation in any other: for there is none other NAME UNDER HEAVEN given among men, whereby we must be saved.

JESUS is the true God, and eternal life.

    1 John5:v.19-20

19 We know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.

20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know Him that is true, and we are in Him that is true, even in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

    Dear atpollard,

Some spend their time trying to force their religious position to agree with the Scripture. The FACT is that the word shamayim is used to indicate air (literally speaking) and sky as well as the heaven/firmament where Jesus is today, physically.

Those people who rely on studying these ancient words REFUSE to accept the fact that these words have more than one meaning and only those who have been born again Spiritually can possibly understand the meaning of the words and which definition the Holy Spirit used when He authored Genesis from within the men who penned them. 1Co 2:14

Strong's gives us the various usage of the words used in Scripture however, which usage of these words used is the view of mere mortal men. Some, who study these words, give more credence to man's views than God's views. A good example is that the word heaven can be used to mean air, heaven/universe, or the sky.

    Transliteration
    shamayim
    Pronunciation
    shä·mah'·yim heaven (398x), air (21x), astrologers (with H1895) (1x

שָׁמַיִם shâmayim, shaw-mah'-yim; dual of an unused singular שָׁמֶה shâmeh; from an unused root meaning to be lofty; the sky (as aloft; the dual perhaps alluding to the visible arch in which the clouds move, as well as to the higher ether where the celestial bodies revolve):—air, × astrologer, heaven(-s).

Beware those who try to force their biased view into the account while refusing to acknowledge whether or NOT they are even Christians or Petenders.

They do NOT understand that Genesis agrees in EVERY way with EVERY other discovered Truth so they invent their own Spirit-free view. This view does NOT agree with either Scripture, Science nor History so they claim there is one Truth for the Bible and another for scientists and historians. This is FALSE since God's Truth MUST agree with EVERY other discovered Truth or you have the WRONG interpretation of Scripture since there is ONLY One Truth and God's Truth ALWAYS agrees with every other discovered Truth.

God bless you and yours, my friend.

Gen 1:1-2 In the beginning God Created the heaven (Hebrew - Air) and the Earth (Hebrew -Ground). And the Earth (Ground) was without form, (Dust) and void; (Empty) and darkness (Death) was upon the face of the deep, and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

The 3 elements necessary for all physical form are shown... Air, Dust, and Water. Everything which is physical is composed of these 3 elements. The text is correct in showing that the water was not directly created, or spoken into being, because it consists of elements of the Air or Atmosphere. Water is Hydrogen and Oxygen and came from the Atmosphere and is not shown as a separate creation.

This is correct in today's scientific knowledge, but IF the Scriptures were written by Ancient men, Moses would not have known this. He would have written that in the beginning God created the Air, Dust, and Water, but since God Himself is the Author, He correctly shows that the Atmosphere and Ground were created, and the Water was not a separate creation but instead, came from the Atmosphere.

Genesis 1:1 begins by telling us that the 3 elements created before the first Day - It was air, dust, and water. YHWH, the Son of God, took some of the air, dust, and water at the beginning of the 3rd Day and changed it into energy by causing a Singularity. Exactly as YHWH knew it would, matter inflated from the Black hole made by the first of the first Huge Stars to implode and become a Singularity which produced other Universes.

Millions of years later, the Universe had cooled enough to become visible. Genesis 2:4 gives us the Day this Big Bang happened. It was the 3rd Day the SAME Day the first Earth was made, which was the 3rd Day according to Genesis 1:9-10.

God also got the FACT that Stars didn't shine until the 4th Day, which was millions of years AFTER the Big Bang. This is a recent scientific discovery. There is NO way any ancient man Moses could have possibly known this.

Again, it's proof of our Awesome God.

There is NOT a single planet existed BEFORE the first Day, Gen 1:1-2 and the Earth was made on the THIRD Day. Gen 1:10

What existed was earth/ground without form and empty, which was used to make Adam's firmament on the 2nd Day Gen 1:6-8 and Adam's Earth on the 3rd Day.

The Earth (Heb-ground) was without form in the beginning because there was NO physical God to stretch the heaven/air, and mold the earth/dust, and water into physical shape. That is one of the reasons the invisible Almighty God Father commanded and said, Let there be Light; and there was light. (Gen 1:3)

YHWH or Jesus, the Son, the only God ever formed or that ever will be formed, came into the physical world from within the invisible Spirit of the Almighty God Father, to mold the clay and destroy the darkness/death which was upon everything God had created BEFORE Jesus came into the physical world as the Light of the First Day.

The emergence of Light (Gen 1:3)... gave LIFE to the physical worlds / matters that God created APART from his spiritual Realm. To be APART from Almighty God Spiritual Realm is subject to Death!

Therefore, He sent his only begotten Son, YHWH, to provide the light / life needed in the beginning to form - like a Potter would mold a clay - the formless and void (dead) Earth for our inhabitation and destroy/death darkness with the brightness of his glory, before the world was.

Trying to force the words to mean that God made the first Earth in Gen 1:1 is refuted by Gen 1:10 and Gen 2:4 which BOTH show the formation of the first Earth on the THIRD Day.

    God bless

Yes, you are right.JESUS, the Word made flesh, is God, a Supreme God, by whom God the Father made the worlds. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made. In the beginning - in JESUS - was the Word, the Word was God. In fact, the expression "In the beginning" as was said by God to Moses, does not refer to a verb , but to a person, the person of JESUS, a Supreme God, really.

Genesis Chapter One is the entire History of God's 6 Days or Ages in the Creation of the perfect Third Heaven including future events which will NOT be fulfilled until AFTER Jesus returns to our planet. Gen 1:28-31 is Prophecy of events which will happen in the future, at the end of the present 6th Day.

Do Humans still physically die today?

If so, then the end of God's 6th Creative Day is FUTURE because when God's work is finished, there will be no Death. Rev 21:4

1Co 15:26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

Today is the Day of Salvation and Today is Judgment Day for ALL of mankind. The 7th Day is AFTER the present 6th Day, the Day of Salvation.

At the end after the Final Judgment, Satan and Death will be cast into hell. Death has been defeated, we will rise one day to be with our lord.

Gen 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.

All the host of Heaven will be present in Heaven BEFORE the 7th Day Begins as Gen 2:1 states.

Gen 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from ALL his work which he had made.

v3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from ALL his work which God created and made.

It is also the 7th Day of God when ALL Christians cease from our labor on this Earth and we will join Jesus for the Age of Joy which will never end because, the 7th Day - The Great Sabbath - has No Evening and No End - ETERNITY.

Heb 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

    Amen?

Amen brother. 2pillars is correct. God has but 7 Days/Ages and today remains the 6th Day. We live today at Genesis 1:27 because God is STILL creating Adam/mankind in His Image or Spiritually in Christ. The prophecy of Genesis 1:28-31 is future AFTER Jesus returns to rule and reign for a thousand years. That is God's irrefutable Truth. BTW, I first encountered pillars in the mid 90s. His word is True to Genesis. Amen?

Yes, God is a title. He has a NAME and His name is not God. God is a title. JESUS said: John 17:v.6 &5 - 6 I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: 5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

The Word is God, the invisible God, that is the Word. In the beginning was the Wword, it means, In JESUS was the Word, all things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made, for the Word is God.

It is not the case, actually you are saying nothing, what I see is that you have not argument, what prevails is the Word of God, the Word is God, and it is He who says that "we can do nothing against the Truth, but for the Truth. What you said is not Truth, it is a lie.

The true Christians speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto their glory. But as it is written, Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love Him.

In the beginning, it means, in JESUS, the Almighty, the Word made flesh, yes, in JESUS the Word-God-created heavens(the 1st, and the 2nd, and the 3rd heavens, and the heaven of the heavens).

The spirit of man or even of the Devil says that heaven in Hebrew is Air erroneously. What prevails is the Word of God, the Word is God, and around two thousand years ago He was made flesh under the name of JESUS, by the way it was the fourth Day when JESUS came, for from Adam until JESUS had passed around four thousand years(4.000 years), and JESUS said: My Father worketh hitherto, and I work. Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill Him, because He not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was His Father, making Himself equal with God. Then Jesus said unto the Jews: Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He seeth the Father do: for what things soever the Father doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

Today we are living in the beginning of the seventh and last millennium or seventh and last Day, exactly in the beginning of this FIRST century of the seventh and last millennium, the millennium of Christ, the millennium of Truth, the millennium of Judgment, the Judgment Seat of Christ, and the Day of Vengeance. Therefore, from now on, there will be only and only punishments of the wicked nations, day after day, yeah, only and only puinishments.
The heavens, yeah, the heavens, the FIRST and the SECOND HEAVENS, and the earth, which are now, by the same Word are kept in store, reserved unto FIRE against the Day of Judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But be not ignorant of this one thing, that one Day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one Day. Therefore, seeing then that all these things shall be DISSOLVED, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the Day of God-the Lord's Day, wherein the HEAVENS - the first and the second heavens- being on FIRE shall be DISSOLVED, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

Nevertheless the true Christians, the true believers, according to His promise, look for new heavens - well the next heaven will be the third heaven known by the Apostle Paul and John in the isle of Patmos, and a new earth - the Kingdom of God - wherein dwelleth righteousness.

John wrote to the churches from Him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before His throne; from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth, even Him that loved the Church, and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and made kings and priests unto God and His Father; to Him be Glory and Dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Behold, he cometh with clouds, the same clouds that did guide the people of Israel in the Old Testament, and every eye shall see Him, and they also which pierced Him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of Him. Even so, Amen. JESUS is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning-in the beginning was the Word- and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

In Christ JESUS, KING of kings (made them by Him), and LORD of lords

    Dear Ben,

I think, we have few around here, my brother, but, seemingly, they do not want to engage into the discussion. However, we do have some Christian pretenders that I have encountered on this thread though. See posters above. lol

I will leave them for you, my brother, since, I am very busy preparing for my next flight. Talk to you next time.

    God Bless

Thus, YHWH became the Express Image of the invisible God, bodily or physically - the first born of every Creature …. the only God ever physically formed for us to see and witness. Before him there was none, neither there shall be after him.

There is so much wrong in That statement

YHWH is the covenant name of God. God does not have a body John 4:24 but is a spirit and must be worshipped in spirit n truth

Are you saying God is the 1st born? Heresy. God is eternal and has always existed. He does not have a beginning nor end

Are you saying Jesus is the 1st born. Ok, but you seem to be a Jehovahs Witness at this point depending how you define it. Position of honor? Yes indeed, actually createf and 1st born Arianism and JW

We cannot see God presently since He is a spirit.

Your last sentence-refutes everything else you seem to say in that paragraph and is easily the best sentence

    Dear Readers,

THIS POSTER Marooncat79 INTENTIONALLY EDITED THE COMPLETE CONTEXT OF MY POST IN ORDER TO DISTORT AND PERHAPS, MISREPRESENT OF MY BIBLICAL STAND! WHAT A SHAME, ISN'T IT?

    Dear Marooncat,

Below is the complete context of my quote that you intentionally Edited and Deleted for your fallacy of argument. Now, try again and see if you can refute what I have posted based on the whole context of my quote IF you can ...which I DON'T THINK YOU COULD.... BUT TRY ANYWAY IF YOU WISH AND HAVE CAPACITY TO SUSTAIN YOUR FLAWED UNDERSTANDING OF THE SCRIPTURE,

NOTE: It is my biblical position that YHWH is the Son of the invisible Almighty God Father of whom No man hath seen at anytime nor his name has been revealed to anyone at this time.

    See below:

Not so since YHWH is a singular name of the only God ever formed or that ever will be formed physically. He gave up His image as God and came to Earth as the man, Jesus Christ. Phl 2:5-11 Elohim is interpreted as "God" and it speaks of the invisible Spirit and that's WHY it's a Plural Name.

Amen, IF we are speaking of the invisible Spirit of the Trinity....BUT....If we are speaking of the only God ever formed physically, it's YHWH in the Old and Jesus Christ in the New Testament.

Isa 43:11 I, even I, am the LORD; (YHWH) and beside Me there is no Saviour. (Jesus)

Not so, since there was NO God in physical form until the FIRST Day when Jesus came forth into the physical world from within the invisible Spirit of God at the command of God the Trinity. Jesus speaks of that FIRST Day as He prays to the invisible Father from the Garden of Gethsemane, just before He is crucified:

Jhn 17:5 And now, O Father, glorify thou Me with Thine own self with the glory which I had with Thee before the world was.

The ONLY Day, before the world was, is the FIRST Day. Jesus IS the Light of the 1st Day. Otherwise He would NOT have preeminence or FIRST place in everything. Amen?

Col 1:18 And He is the head of the body, the Church: Who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in ALL things He might have the preeminence. (FIRST place)
