I checked several verses on Bible Gateway and see they do not yet have the update.
It would be interesting to know where these few instances are and why. (The document does not give anything beyond this brief statement.) Anyone know?

That was the original plan of Arthur Farstad. After his death the editorial team "jumped ship" so to speak.

Found this Review of the Christian Standard Bible by Strauss, which has related information.

Too bad they did that, as is a real need to have a modern version translated off the MT, and they could have still done that, as the text sources were still there to use!

Thought they used messiah Jewish audience settings, and Christ for gentile ones?

    According to Strauss:
That is, as a title, for example “Then he gave the disciples orders to tell no one that he was the Messiah” vs “for the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.”

On the other hand, I think that Μεσσίας is only used in two verses in the Greek New Testament.

The HCSB became the CSB in 2017.

In post #3 I brought up the CSB changing Christ to Messiah in several more verses. Rather than continue that line of discussion here, I created a new thread specifically for that. Come on over and tell us what you think.
    Should χριστός be translated Messiah?

Interesting that they see their audience as mainly new Christians, or those reading Bible first time? Not for use for serious studying of the Bible then?

I think that is the least of issues.

Presumably they found some errors or unsatisfactory renderings. Either they change them now or soldier on with them for another 30 years or so.

I do not particularly disagree. However, I find this seems to be in vogue, and seems to be fairly new. That is why I started a thread on it and to leave other discussion of the CSB here.

Dr Machas on Youtube an excellent view in regards to modern version updating so quickly, as his main point is that the Bible changes the culture, does not like culturally views creeping into and changing bible! he also likes the 1977 nas, as for 40 years now teaching out of it...
