Acts 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come...

Of all the days of the year upon which God could have poured out his Holy Spirit, why did he do so on the day of Pentecost? Of all the holy days that Israel had, why did he pour out his Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost?

    What are your thoughts?

Interesting. The first day of the week the day after seven Sabbath days from the Passover. Leviticus 23:5-16.

Maybe, in a time when the fruits of the earth are available 24/7 at the superstore regardless of season, we have a harder time discerning the importance of a harvest festival.

    Just a thought.

One of the possible reasons for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit during the celebration of "first fruits" 50 days after celebrating the Passover, is the Holy Spirit is called the "first fruits." (Romans 8:23)

5 Now there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven.
8 And how hear we, every man in our own language wherein we were born?

The preaching at Pentecost was a gospel bomb that broadcast the gospel to every nation under heaven:

So belief cometh of hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. But I say, Did they not hear? Yea, verily, Their sound went out into all the earth, And their words unto the ends of the world. Ro 10:17-18

Their line is gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, Ps 19:4

And it hath come to pass afterwards, I do pour out My Spirit on all flesh, And prophesied have your sons and your daughters, Your old men do dream dreams, Your young men do see visions. Joel 2:28

And not only so, but also we ourselves, having the first-fruit of the Spirit, we also ourselves in ourselves do groan, adoption expecting -- the redemption of our body; Rom 8:23

Did the first-fruit of the Spirit, begin being shed forth on those God would be taking out of the nations as a people for his name, <See Acts chapter 15) on the day of first-fruit, the day following the seventh Sabbath following the weekly Sabbath following the death of the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world?

Was the day of first-fruit the third day of holy convocation following Passover? Being the Spirit is necessary for our ultimate salvation, how were the first two days of holy convocation relative to salvation? The 15th and the 21st? What took place between those days?

or also our passover for us was sacrificed -- Christ, so that we may keep the feast, From 1 Cor. 5:7,8

What about the rest of, on all flesh? What about flesh that had died, not having been poured on?

according as it hath been written -- 'There is none righteous, not even one; Romans 3:10

    Little God or Big God?

There is a type of Divine Organization Jesus Founded
that was Publically Inagurarated on The Day of Pentecost.

Those that were Saved, previously, (like when Jesus Promised the Disciples The Holy Spirit that they already had in their soul) and those Saved that day (when 3,000 were ADDED TO THE LORD'S CHURCH AT JERUSALEM) Received the Indwelling of The Holy Spirit just like all others, including The Old Testament Saints, and all those afterward, to this day, and until Jesus Comes (that has nothing to do with Jesus Figuratively Baptising The Church HE BUILT that was there assembled in Jerusalem that Day).

Jesus Gave the Promised "Another Comforter", on The Day of Pentecost, as a Fulfillment of Daniel 9, "to Anoint The Most Holy".

The Shekinah Glory is The Vicar of Christ.

"To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:" Colossians 1:27

    Absolutely.

The Day of Pentecost and Jesus figuratively Immersing and Publically Inaugurating His Divinely Organized church body, there at Jerusalem that Day, WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT, had nothing to do, however, with SALVATION, at all........

There were 3,000 Saved and THEY RECEIVED The Holy Spirit in their soul, by The New Birth, just like everyone, from Adam, until Jesus Comes Again.

However, Jesus Baptised His church body, there, assembled, in a ONE-TIME EVENT.

Jesus Anointed The Most Holy New Testament church with Another Comforter that He had Promised her. The Shekinah Glory.

The Shekinah Glory has Accompanied and Superintended the Operation of The Kind of churched Jesus Built, since that day, as He also Promised.

Apparently, The Lord doesn't Reveal His churches to a lot of folks.

If they knew that His churches exist, apart from the remainder of The Kingdom of God (Saved people on Earth), then the Promise of John the Baptist that there was One Who would baptize some of his hearers in The Holy Ghost,

....and the Promise Jesus Made to His Saved-Spirit-Filled Disciples, in corporate-capacity church assembly, assembled in The Upper Room that He would Fill them The Holy Spirit...

...had to do with Jesus Divinely Organized and Founded church-assembly, made up of Baptized believers, not a thing to do with Salvation.

Then, when those 3,000 were Saved what happened?

They WERE ADDED TO.....??? The Lords church at Jerusalem made up of His Disciples and other baptized believers who were.......assembled in an organized fashion and had been organized since Jesus Called them To FOLLOW HIM ( They were already Saved and water baptized, by The Authority of God, by a man sent from God to baptize)

Jesus BUILT His church out of His Disciples WHO HAD BEEN SCRIPTURALLY BAPTISED.

Jesus Sent Another Comforter and figuratively baptized and FILLED THAT ORGANIZED ASSEMBLY with THE HOLY SPIRIT to BE WITH HIS CHURCHES, ALWAYS, even unto the End of The Age, on The Day of Pentecost, ONCE.

The Holy Spirit has never baptized a thing.

There is no 'one church' and no one has been 'spirit baptized' into anything if there was something referenced as a 'church', to which someone mistakenly 'thinks' "all believers belong". That doesn't exist.

Those are Satanic Counterfeits substituted for a lack of understanding what Jesus Built and Anointed.

'Baptism' of any kind has nothing to do with anyone's Salvation.

Of those who find that the word 'church' always refers to an assembly, the plain rendering of these Passages may be understood as,

"For by (The Superintending Administrative Governing of Another Comforter, The Third Person of The Triune Godhead, that is The Hol Spirit of God, Who is God)

one Spirit are we (the Saved souls, Jews and Gentiles, at Corinth [in context])

    all
(all Saved Souls in The New testament were Scripturally baptized and not just Jews, but Gentiles)

    baptized
(the 'one baptism' of Scripture, in water, as Entrance into membership)

    into one body
    ( THE ONE ASSEMBLED CHURCH BODY, at CORINTH). , . . ."

Later, in context, the gist of the Passage is that there is no reason for Jews and Gentiles to not be water baptized and assemble together because they are both Born of the Same Spirt. That reference is to Salvation.

Being Led by The Holy Spirit to be Faithful to God's Command to be water baptized is what,

"For by one Spirit are we all (Saved Corinthians are/were LED to be)

    baptized
    (in water)

    into one
    (local)

    body (at Corinth), . . ."

    ...

For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost, by Jesus Christ, Who is said, by John, to refer to The Day of Pentecost, when Jesus Baptized HIS CHURCH ORGANIZATION, assembled there, WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT, to Anoint her, until The End of Time. . . .

Some of those listening to John were to be Saved and baptized by water into the church at Jerusalem that would later be figuratively baptized and immersed, with The Holy Spirit, BY JESUS.

The Holy Spirit has never baptized a thing.

    ...

Well, by not seeing the local church as being the only kind of church Jesus Organizes, under the Leadership of The Holy Spirit, Satan invented "Holy Spirit baptism"(?), in default, as well as, "one body"(?), as if that is something that is in The Bible and IT IS NOT.

And he influences some folks to carry on with those lies.

They are heresy and the denial of The Lord's churches that He Founded and Promised to be with and another gospel, which is accursed, by mixing Salvation, with something counterfeit, 100%, which is "Spirit Baptism". IT IS NOT IN THERE.

NO ONE HAS EVER FOUND EITHER OF THEM, in The Bible or on Earth.

    ...

Any time the generic sense of a word has an article 'the', for example, in front of it, the word becomes plural when the article is dropped.

"The church" = "churches" every time.

TEN BIBLE PROOFS OF BAPTIST PERPETUITY
    by Rosco Brong, Late Dean
    Lexington (KY) Baptist College

"The church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth"
    I Timothy 3:15

    Rosco Brong Sermon, Baptist Perpetuity

#10 of 10: PILLAR AND GROUND

"These things write I unto thee, hoping to come unto thee shortly:
but if I tarry long, that thou mayest know
how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God,
which is the church of the living God,
the pillar and ground of the truth"
    [1 Timothy 3:15].

Speaking of the church(es) as an organized assembly, as the context clearly shows,
Paul here calls it "the pillar and ground of the truth."

That is, the church(es) not only, as a pillar or column, upholds the truth, but it is the foundational support of the truth.

    Here we have the explanation
for the wholesale loss of Bible truth by false churches
    and unattached Christians.

It has pleased God that His churches
should be the pillar and ground of the truth,
and so it has been through the centuries.

There's not one bit of Truth to it. Zero. It is ALL of The DEVIL.

They are THE OPPOSITE of The DOCTRINE of CHURCH TRUTH.

    THE MEANING OF ‘EKKLESIA’

Throughout all Protestant Christendom there prevails the teaching that the word church has a twofold meaning in the New Testament. They say at times it is used in the local sense and at other times in the sense of a universal, invisible church consisting of all believers. They make the word to have a literal sense and a figurative sense.

Universal church people are not agreed on just what this invisible church really is. The strict dispensationalists would give this definition:

"The true church, composed of the whole number of regenerate persons from Pentecost to the first resurrection (I Cor. 15:52 ),

united together and to Christ by the baptism of the Holy Spirit (I Cor. 12:12 -13),

is the body of Christ of which He is the Head (Eph. 1:22 -23).

    As such it is a holy temple for the habitation of God through the Spirit (Eph. 2:21 -22);

    is 'one flesh' with Christ (Eph. 5:30 -31);

and espoused to Him as a chaste virgin to one husband (II Cor. 11:2-4)."

(See The Scofield Reference Bible, footnote on Hebrews 12:23, p. 1304).

Strict covenant theologians have a much larger church than dispensationalists.

They say: "The catholic or universal Church, which is invisible, consists of the whole number of the elect, that have been, are, or shall be gathered into one, under Christ the head thereof; and is the spouse, the body, the fulness of Him that filleth all in all" (Confession of Faith of the United Presbyterian Church, Chap. 25, Article 1, p. 36, of the 1961-62 annual).

For 117 years of its existence, the Southern Baptist Convention had no article of faith about the universal, invisible church.

In the 1950s and 1960s the liberals ceased power, and in 1962 a revised confession was adopted which said:

"The New Testament speaks also of the church as the body of Christ which includes all the redeemed of all ages" (Article VI). This is essentially the strict covenant view of the church.

The dispensationalists make the church to be the whole number of regenerate persons from Pentecost to the first resurrection. They would exclude the Old Testament saints from being in the church and all New Testament saints before the day of Pentecost. The covenant theologian has a much larger church consisting of the whole number of the elect, that have been, are, or shall be gathered into one. Nevertheless, both schools have a universal, invisible church. This view is so generally believed that any person who dares to reject it is branded as a "misguided fanatic."

Rome and her daughters ARE ADAMANT that they have some 'belonging' or derived 'authority' or understanding of The Bible Truths of what The New Testament Teaches about churches, or "THE Church", but they would have to follow and be faithful to The Lord's Command to be Scripturally Baptized and to serve The Lord, not forsaking the assembling of themselves together, to Bring Glory to God in One of Jesus' Kind of Churches, which Teach Historically SOUND Baptist Doctrine, OF WHICH THEY ARE WILLFULLY IGNORANT, and their "Will" Will Not.

They FIGHT with a VENGENCE and have not one Word of Bible to support them.

    Never have/ never will.

10's of millions of Baptist-believing saints have been slaughtered and persecuted by them (Rome/her Protestant daughters;) throughout History, until this second.

qoute: In Search of the Universal Invisible Church by Milburn Cockrell

In this booklet I shall not inquire any more as to what theologians and creeds say about the church. There is no such thing as an inerrant creed or an infallible theologian.

The final court of appeal is the Bible.

What men may say about the Bible is unimportant.

The great question is: What is the New Testament idea of a church?

Does the New Testament authorize only the local idea of the word church, or does it authorize the universal, invisible idea, or both?

It will be my purpose to prove that when we are shut up to the New Testament alone, only one definite idea of the church rules the field. In the New Testament the true and actual church is a local, visible body of baptized believers.

A limited reading of the New Testament will prove that a church

    made disciples (Matt. 28:19),

baptized these disciples in water (Matt. 28:19),

and taught them what Christ commanded (Matt. 28:20).

A true New Testament church received members (Rom. 14:1),

    elected officers (Acts 1:23; 6:5),

    sent out missionaries (Acts 13:1-4),

    observed the Lord's Supper (I Cor. 11),

had regular and stated meetings (Acts 20:7; I Cor. 16:1-2),

    settled disputes (Acts 15:1-41),

excluded the disorderly (I Cor. 5:9-13; II Thess. 3:14),

restored the penitent (II Cor. 2:1-10),

and condemned false doctrine (Rom. 16:17-18).

None of these things could have been done by a universal, invisible church.

Since the term "the universal, invisible church" is nowhere found in the New Testament, I must say that we do not have much to go on in our search.

But in order to make sure the word church never has any meaning other than a local church, we must examine every passage in the New Testament on this important subject.

Let us look into the Book and see what God has been pleased to reveal. If the universal, invisible church is of the great importance which some attach to it, surely the Bible will set this doctrine forth in plain language for all to see.

Otherwise, there is no need nor place for the universal, invisible church.

The word "church" found in our KJV is a translation of the Greek word ekklesia.

In the Greek New Testament it occurs 115 times.

In our KJV church is found 114 times.

However, two of these times should be excluded from our study. In Acts 19:37 the Greek word is hierosulosnot ekklesia.

This is the Greek word for temple.

Then in I Peter 5:13 ekklesiadoes not occur in the Greek text.

The word church is supplied by the translators.

'Ekklesia is translated three times "assembly" in Acts 19. Hence we need to subtract two passages in the KJV (Acts 19:37 and I Peter 5:13 ) which makes 112.

    Then we need to add 3 (Acts 19:32 , 39, 41).

Thus giving us 115 times ekklesia occurs in the Greek New Testament.

THE CHURCH IN A CERTAIN PLACE

Twenty times the word church is used in the singular number, and it points to a church which meets in a certain place.

    These passages are as follows:
"The church which was at Jerusalem " (Acts 8:1).
"The church which was in Jerusalem " (Acts 11:22 ).
"The church that was in Antioch " (Acts 13:1).
"The church at Cenchrea" (Rom. 16:1).
"The church that is in their house" ( Rom. 16:5).
"The church of God which is at Corinth " (I Cor. 1:2).
"The church which is in his house" (Col. 4:15).
"The church of the Laodiceans" (Col. 4:16).
"The church of the Thessalonians" (I Thess. 1:1).
"The church of the Thessalonians" (II Thess. 1:1).
"The church in thy house" (Phile. 2).
"The church of Ephesus " (Rev. 2:1).
"The church in Smyrna " (Rev. 2:8).
"The church at Pergamos" (Rev. 2:12).
"The church in Thyatira" (Rev. 2:18).
"The church in Sardis " (Rev. 3:1).
"The church in Philadelphia " (Rev. 3:7).
"The church of the Laodiceans" (Rev.3:14).

These verses most certainly refer to a local church, an assembly of people who meet in a given locality, a body of baptized believers.

There is no such thing as a universal, invisible church which meets in a certain place.

A church which gathers in a certain place is both local and visible.

This leaves 55 more verses to consider.

Try not to brag on your ignorance.

The following are contrasts between the church and the kingdom:

    (1) The church is an assembly; the kingdom is the domain of the King.

    (2) The church as an assembly is necessarily local; the kingdom is universal.

    (3) The church is spoken of as that which was to be built (Matt. 16:18); the kingdom is never thus spoken of.

    (4) Christ said: "Tell it to the church" (Matt. 18: 17); no such command is ever given concerning the kingdom.

    (5) The church is called a body (Eph. 1:22,23; Col. 1: 18; 1 Cor. 12:27); the kingdom is never thus spoken of.

    (6) The church is a democracy under the headship of Christ, as we shall presently note; the kingdom is a monarchy.

    (7) Therefore the church has organic character, being visible and having officers (1 Cor. 12:28); the kingdom is neither organic or visible (Luke 17:20).

    (8) Church membership is subject to the democratic action of the body (Rom. 14:1; Acts 9:26; 1 Cor. 5:5; 2 Cor. 2:6); while God, purely independent of church action, puts men in His kingdom by the new birth (John 3:5; Col. 1:13).

    (9) The kingdom was preached and, at one time, was announced as at hand (Acts 20:25; 28:31; Mark 1:15); but such language is never used with reference to the church.

    (10) We read of the gospel of the kingdom (Mark 1: 14; Matt. 4:23; 9:35; 24:14); but never of the gospel of the church.

I discribed the Prodestant misconception of your couple of verses that they adopted to excuse them from being Faithful to God and The Bible.

They, along with John Calvin, saw to it God's children following Him in His churches were murdered.

These notions will not win any awards at The Judgment Seat of Christ.

They are Not of God and not "Taught" in The Bible. They are willy-nilly assumed by the flesh and are not in the text.

Too bad, unless someone prays to God to know Church Truth AND He Leads them to read and rightly divide The Word of Truth.

Satan just wads it up and says, "God doesn't have His churches throughout the World that have always known better than this couple of lies it took Satan 1800 years to sell to Prodestants and ignorant baptists ( with a little 'b'.)"
