If you like and are familiar with BBN Institute, would you suggest a student just buckle down and complete the courses in the suggested order, or is there some tweaking and supplementing that you would suggest?

Is there any overview webpage or context or explanation that a student should know, but might miss, if they just click on the first class and start working?

Are there any specific study Bibles or resource books that you think a BBN student should own?

Any tips, suggestions, warning, or anything like that?

Has anyone worked through the entire suggested course?

Yet another place that teaches a false "gospel", that can never get a sinner saved! They assume that they know better than Jesus Christ, Who IS God Incarnate, and say that all that a sinner need do to get saved, is to "believe"! How to Get to Heaven

Jesus says Himself, and this is the ONLY Authority that really counts, "and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; REPENT and BELIEVE in the gospel.” (Mark 1:15). And, Luke 24:47, "and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem". The Apostle Peter who actually walked with Jesus, in his first sermon, told those who had been "cut to the heart" (Acts 2:37) from his preaching, and asked "what shall we do?", that, "And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.". In the following chapter Peter says, "Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out" (v.19)

Now the devil has very cunningly seen that "REPENTANCE for the forgiveness of sins", has been removed, and this is now seen as simply a change of ones mind on how they view God, Jesus, the Bible, etc, etc. This is a LIE!

I understand what you are saying. It is a controversy in the Baptist church how much to load down the first prayer with things that will be addressed more fully in the upcoming discipleship process?

I googled last night. McArthur was removed from the radio over a similar controversy?

Do you have an alternative suggestion for comprehensive and systematic theological instruction?

Thank you! I have some hard choices to make. I want to look at the big picture, and not get lost in details, and create an organized plan to move forward. I want this pandemic to be a period of time that I look back on as a time of rapid growth and preparation, despite not being allowed to complete my secular college studies. I want to reframe this period as an opportunity.

I don't want to nibble and flitter around. I want to buckle down.

I would recommend that you just pray for guidance, start reading your bible from Genesis 1:1, and just see where the Lord leads you about getting "instruction".
You'll never find a source 100% recommended by others, but the Spirit can guide you as you search!

Have only had positive interaction with BBN programs. The list of audio teachers is impressive, including some friends of mine, professors, "big names" no one would questions - Pentecost/Ryrie/Walvoord from Dallas Seminary, Ray Stedman, Warren Wiersbe, Howard Hendricks, John Whitcomb, Frank Garlock, Walter Martin and a host more.

Two thumbs up for what they are doing, compiling sermons/lectures of the "greats" for a new generation.

Walvoord, and others from DTS, including Ryrie, taught the unbiblical heresy that a sinner need not accept Jesus Christ as their "Lord", as well as their Saviour. This is what Walvoord said:

In an effort to distinguish true faith from mere assent, some have found it necessary to add requirements to the single requirement of faith for salvation. In keeping with this goal, they have required a person who wants to be saved to accept the lordship of Christ and to promise to serve the Lord from then on. This has been made a prerequisite to faith. This view is contradicted in Scripture where works follow faith but do not precede it. That is why in Ephesians 2:9 the apostle Paul makes it very explicit when he says, “Not by works so that no one can boast.” He goes on to say that we have to be renewed to do good works, “for we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Eph. 2:10)

Romans 10:9 is very clear, "that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."

Appreciate you NOT using the word "heresy" (which can get you kicked out of the BB quickly) over the way some look at salvation. Some speak of the whole picture, some only a part, but they are not "heretics". A heretic is unregenerate and goes to hell. A brother who sees salvation as repent/believe but doesn't mention "lordship" is a brother, not a hell-bound heretic

And why on earth would you even bring that matter up on this thread? This is about further Bible training . . . and I'd wager you disagree about SOMETHING with every single teacher in their BBN family of speakers. Probably me, too.

Yes, as there are some who see Lordship Salvation as being a mixture of grace and good works to be saved!

firstly, "heresy" is unbiblical teaching, and this does not make a person a "heretic". The Bible is VERY clear that non-Lordship is complete rubbish and has its origin with the devil!" I bring this up here because you mention DTS, and give the names that you give. This Doctrine is at the heart of the Gospel, as is the necessity of repentance before salvation, which again has been hijacked by the emeny of The Faith!

maybe some do, but to teach that a sinner need not accept Jesus Christ as their "Lord" as well as their "Saviour", is indeed heresy, because it is AGAINST the Teachings of the Holy Bible!

Jesus is already the Lord over His own when Justified, but agree that we should continue to grow in Him and His grace and submit to Him as Lord!
