It is commonplace to dress political events in Biblical terminology for some reason. The half-witted Pope Francis, observing scores of thousands of Arabs flooding Europe after Obama’s assassination of Gaddafi in Libya, comes up with the seemingly plausible lie that the holy family were refugees and illegal immigrants in Egypt.

As you say, Graham sounds over the top crazy.

Was their voting to impeach a betrayal of some type, to something or someone?

shows to me that the media still can manipulate the masses

    what he actually said:

"But the House Democrats impeached him because they hate him and want to do as much damage as they can," Graham wrote. "And these ten, from [Trump's] own party, joined in the feeding frenzy. It makes you wonder what the thirty pieces of silver were that [Democratic House] Speaker [Nancy] Pelosi promised for this betrayal."

he didn't even mention Jesus nor Judas, he was talking about the RINOs, sheesh. Newsweak compared them.

He didn’t have to go to 30 pieces of silver. The liberal Republicans did it for nothing.

yeah, and I live in the district of one of them. Might as well have voted for Carolyn Long, she will never have my support again.

Newsweak wanted you to think thirty pieces of sliver = Judas Iscariot then leap to Jesus = Trump to Franklin Graham, therefore Graham is crazy. But Newsweak are they crazy ones.

Yes. Illiterate Newsweek wanted you to think that he was equating Trump and Christ.

    thirty pieces of silver

The symbol of treason. This term comes from the Bible, where Judas’s price for betraying Jesus was thirty pieces of silver (Matthew 26:15). It has symbolized betrayal ever since.

I said this before, and I'll say it again:

Q - What do you get when you mix Christianity with politics?

    A - Politics.

A larger question is the reason Franklin Graham would have an opinion on the matter. It is disheartening to see Christian leaders trying to straddle the fence between Christianity and the World. That is why I see the GOP as far more dangerous than the DNC. A Christian would have to ignore the Bible to vote Democrat. BUT the GOP platform hides within a vale of morality that some mistake for Christianity.

If we are making comparisons, the GOP is more like the Roman emperor Julian (Julian the Apostate). He admonished his faith to mimic Christians because Christianity was growing in contrast to the decline of the Greek pagan religion, demanding they start providing for the poor.

no offense meant, but what are you talking about? Why would it be "disheartening to see Christian leaders trying to straddle the fence between Christianity and the World"? Isn't that what they're supposed to do as Christian leaders?

As for Julian the Apostate, he went out of his way to restore Hellenistic polytheism, that would not be trying to mimic Christianity in any sense of the word. And the DNC platform:

itself is steeped in their version of self- righteous morality. That party is far far more dangerous to Christianity.

    No offense taken at all.

I am saying that too many Christians have taken the GOP itself to be Christian when there is absolutely nothing Christian about either party. The reference to Julian is that he recognized the "appeal" of Christianity and ordered the Greek pagan priests and government to exceed Christians in caring for the poor. Worldly "morality" is not Christian morality.

I do not see how the DNC can possibly be more dangerous to Christianity. Both parties are steeped in self-righteous morality (neither party proclaims the gospel or attributes morality to Christ, in fact, both parties take credit for their own accomplishments).

The difference is it is easy to see how the Democrat Platform is anti-Christ. It is based on evil. But the Republican Platform is a self-righteous morality that is often mistaken for the "Christian" voice. I find this very much more a danger than I do the DNC.

I have great faith that Christianity will survive, indeed grow & prosper under this time of reset and political upheaval. We have always grown under persecution and strife. Tests our metal.
