Note: an audience = An Audience is simply a one-to-one meeting with The Queen. Audiences happen regularly throughout Her Majesty's working week. The majority of Audiences are for members of the diplomatic community, though Her Majesty also welcomes political, religious and military leaders, and people who have won prestigious cultural prizes.

I googled about bowing to the queen:
    One person gave this answer

"(Former employee of the US Department of State. I do NOT speak for the Department). No American is “obligated” to bow to any foreign head of state.

However, all Americans should show the same courtesy and respect to a foreign head of state, that they would show to their own head of state. No law on this, but it makes for good international relations, and good will."

Now if you went into the Queens presence, would you bow?

Well, if we have any Presidents on this board, we will let them answer.
But the question was "Would you bow" (key word = YOU)

    Why not?

Yes, of course. We are to give honor to whom honor is due.

I feel sorry for the guys behind me, as I will be wearing a kilt.

I'm with Mordecai on this one. Fact is that I serve the King of Kings. I can't imagine that I would accept an "Audience" with her unless she invited me there to share the Gospel with her. Which means that she would have had to draw the conclusion that she is the head of a false religion.

Then what are your thoughts about the quote from former Dept of State employee in the OP.

and Likewise, you would have no problem, if a non- American was talking during the Star Spangel Banner?

Or if a non-Christian was gabbing during your church service?

Please. You asked if I would bow, not if I would be polite.

I would have no problem with a non-American not putting his hand over his heart, or a non-Christian not bowing his head.

But I have a problem with anyone who would just be a boor.

Those were your follow-up questions to my negative answer to your original question.

"Now if you went into the Queens presence, would you bow?"
