One would think bread and the cup to be sufficient, if not the marks in His hands and feet.

There are, actually, other directions to lean to besides Amillennial and futurism. But at any rate I suggest that you are too quick to label as mysteries some pieces of the puzzle that you just have not given enough thought and time to. Understandably, if you dismiss studies along these lines to be unedifying.

Partial preterism is acceptable, full blown is heresy!

It's fruitless to attempt to engage with @Yeshua1 . He knows what he thinks and is content to make drive-by potshots at opposing views.

I will engage in fruitful discussions, but do you hold to the heresy of full preterism also?

Full blown Preterism is defined to be outside orthodoxy, and as heresy....

The Jews plan to do EXACTLY THAT. Right now, they're breeding red heifers & other animals to be used in temple rites. remember, they believe the Old Covenant is still in effect, with its system of sacrifices, etc. & they reject Jesus as Messiah. He's gonna straighten them out before forever! But not before they build a new temple in Jerusalem & resume the sacrifices. They've already made & consecrated an altar to be used in that temple. (I'm guessing they'll come up with some fire they'll say has been preserved & kept burning for millenia by their people in a hidden place, since they obtained it from the old temple of Solomon, & sent some of it to the 2nd temple that the Romans destroyed.)

I understand partial to include everything but Jesus' return. However, if that were true, Jesus is 'WAY-OVERDUE, as He said He'd return immediately after the trib.

Yes, but at least still hold to a second coming, as full denies that will happen, as already came back in a spiritual sense!

Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
    Col 2:17 Which
ARE [not "were"] a shadow of THINGS TO COME; but the body is of Christ.

The church fathers were often church babies.

Can't you see that Paul, who had a 'hotline' to Jesus, was telling the gentile Christians(Colossians were Greex & some were the ancestors of today's Turks) that they did NOT have to start practicing the things God had ordained to the Israelis in Moses' time, in order to be & stay saved, that these things were but forerunners of future events & conditions. And they're still that, today.

They were solid in some areas of theology, while in others not so much!

    Hence "often", not "always".
