The Holy Spirit comes to reside in us after believing and accepting Christ as our Savior.

The Holy Spirit enables a lost sinner to call upon jesus now as Lord, as fallen sinners cannot do that apart from Grace of God!

What’s the opposite if He didn’t? A sinner’s lips would be sealed and they couldn’t cry out to God for mercy, or grace, or salvation?

You base your theology on Ephesians 2 which doesn't support it

    Not true.
According to Ephesians 2:4-6 the Holy Spirit quickens (makes one alive) and gives faith to believe. This is a gracious act of salvation by God, apart from anything we would do.

God does not sit around and wait for us to decide to believe and accept him before he acts. If God did that then 1, we could boast in our own wisdom and reasoning, and 2, God would never have even one human believe or accept Him as every human would spend life trying to be the king of his own castle. All humans would fall short and remain dead in their trespasses and sins.

That is exactly what you stated, but you deny it because you know you are wrong. You may now try to wriggle out of your conflicted claim.

They don’t have any desire to cry out to God for salvation without God’s intervention in their life.

    peace to you

Ephesians 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins:

2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

Now show me a DEAD man that has the ability to come to Christ?... He must be a changed man and he didn't change himself... Brother Glen:)

I know quite a few people who have come to Christ that do not boast that they accepted Christ as their Savior. Quite the contrary as many are very humble and meek.
It is also true that the Holy Spirit resides in man after he chooses the free gift of salvation.
    Ephesians 1:13
Those holding to a TULIP philosophy will obviously disagree as you have.
God does not foreordain or predestine people to hell. Which is the opposite if he chose you before the world to be saved.
I don’t intend to make many posts on this subject as the eyes of those who hold to the Calvinism doctrine are rarely uprooted
and I don’t intend to change mine either.

People change their ways all the time, even atheists who try to be moral or a sinner trying to just do the right thing according to the norm. We’re all sinners that Christ died for on the cross so that we could accept the free gift that is offered according to what He has done. Only it’s not all that will take that free gift choosing their sin over Him.

Stratton7, I also know many humble and meek Muslims, Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses. There are many pius people who have disciplined their minds and bodies. There will be many pius people who will come to God and he will say "I never knew you." Such is the story of the 10 virgins who wait for the bridegroom (Matthew 25).

The question is not whether someone chose God, but whether God chose that someone. From Adam in Genesis to the saints in Revelation we see a Sovereign God who graciously chooses according to the desires of his undisclosed will. None can question him (Job thought he could. God turned it around and became the one who questioned Job.). All stand in His presence and receive pardon only by the declaration of the King, Jesus. Alistair Begg says it well when speaking of the thief whom Jesus chose to redeem.

I appreciate the response and I have not watched the video yet. But I will say before I close soon for the night that the thief said to Jesus “before” he was saved, “...Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.”
The Lord then said “afterwards” “Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.”
