For someone that knows nothing about any of the people, who is Bart Barber?

He used to be on the EC for Southwestern. He was instrumental in taking down Paige Patterson in an ungodly manner. He supports CRT and race baiters like McKinssick.

They took him down in an underhanded back channel manner. They did it because he was anti Calvinist. They used some nonsensical sexual abuse cover up as the mechanism.

With all the election fraud afoot (national, state, and local) one can't help but wonder if this was a rigged election too.

Here is the bigger question, even though these things are going on is the SBC still sending out missionaries with the gospel? As a NAMB Church Planter I can say we are. I don't like these other things but the primary mission of the SBC and even the church is being fulfilled. So no, until that stops being the case, I will not be leaving.

No real way to rig one. Floor vote with no proxy. If any "rigging" went on, it was putting the convention in Californiacation where most of the South Eastern "messengers" would most likely not go.

Did you hear about, several weeks ago they yanked next year's SBC Annual Meeting out of Charlotte? It had been scheduled to be held there in 2023 for years. No more. They'll be meeting in New Orleans instead.

Part of it - can be the location of the SBC meeting -
Remember it is being held on the Left Coast.

I remember reading in "On a Hill to Die " the Location can make a big difference.
and this year - even though things have opened up a bit- many from the Bible belt,
may have had a hard time getting to

...In a special called meeting, the Southern Baptist Convention Executive Committee voted unanimously to move the 2023 annual meeting from Charlotte to New Orleans.
...attendance at the annual event has grown, meaning the 280,000-square-foot Charlotte Convention Center is not large enough to host the event, which is expected to draw more than 15,000 attendees. Space requirements for hosting an SBC annual meeting now exceed 400,000 square feet.

    2023 – New Orleans, LA – June 13 & 14

    2024 – Indianapolis, IN – June 11 & 12

    2025 – Dallas, TX – June 10 & 11

    2026 – Orlando, FL – June 9 & 10

    2027 – Salt Lake City, UT – June 8 & 9

    2028 – Indianapolis, IN – June 13-14

The convention needs another Adrian Rogers to lead it and right now there isn't anyone close.

The Convention needs to split. The moderates and libs want to change the name. Let them go get their own name and SBC remain conservative. Split the seminaries and split the Convention. Not enough room in the tent for Libs.

Negative - they have the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and Alliance of Baptist to join

Some in the SBC have already joined the CBF or AoB - -- they need to make a choice and be with conservatives or with the moderates (CBF) or the Liberals AoB
