Re-starting a thread that was forced to be closed
Note: that thread has been -re-opened and moved to C- A

I had also mentioned "The Bible message will never change - but the methods may have to."

I contend that many things have changed in the past 75 years.
so should methods changes as society change?

NOTE: This is a "C vs A" free thread

I'm not sure if this thread is about door knocking or changing methods. I have zero success with door knocking. Never met anyone who went to church because of it nor do I entertain those who knock on my door.

As far as changing methods with the Gospel message remaining the same, that is exactly what we are doing in our church. Making a conscious effort to keep things interesting and quick paced without wasting time. Messages are typically shorter than most but specifically to the point. Many church services in our area are long, boring, and make no impact. We are trying to avoid that while presenting the Gospel of Christ and challenging people to believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ and forgiveness by grace. In the short time since we have started we have been blessed more than we deserve. I have seen souls saved, including my youngest son and his girlfriend. Almost everyone is in their 20s or early 30s except the Associate Pastor and wife and me and my wife. God has been good to us.

Yes, the intent is changing methods - We can also discuss the success others have had with door knocking.
As I mentioned before: "The Bible message will never change - but the methods may have to."

Hmm - do the methods have to be changed?

    *1 Corinthians 9:19-23*
For though I am free from all, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win more of them. To the Jews I became as a Jew, in order to win Jews. To those under the law I became as one under the law (though not being myself under the law) that I might win those under the law. To those outside the law I became as one outside the law (not being outside the law of God but under the law of Christ) that I might win those outside the law. To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some. I do it all for the sake of the gospel, that I may share with them in its blessings.

Another method we are working to make better use of is Social media. I'm not very skilled at using the various platforms but am working to become better.

Are you utilizing any new methods? What kind of results are you seeing?

For the past year, we have been in the process of selling our building. Closing was last month. Just prior to closing, we made a mad dash to store some of our church items. And since we were moving (without knowing until a couple of week prior to closing) we were not really doing any visitation, ect.

We are finally getting settled in our temporary location (could be a year or so) - The rent is exceptionally inexpensive - (our offerings have been very low) . We are meeting in a Methodist church bldg - who also has a very small attendance. And just tonight, I just found a nearby sister church may be closing - so I will be seeing if they want to join us!

Otherwise, I have one man in our church that can not do much do to military caused injuries. So I trust he will be able to be in charge of social media.
At the moment - we are in a "New Beginning" phase.

Great to hear. We also just moved. We were renting a room in a local event center but other events were created issues with noise and foot traffic. We moved to an old store front in the middle of town the first Sunday of November. Our Associate Pastor has been a tremendous help. This is my first Pastorate in my hometown and also the first that I have had any help.

We are trying to avoid taking anyone from their home church unless they are unhappy or being led to a work. Our goal is to keep it simple. Introduce people to the Gospel, get them growing Spiritually, and get them involved in some ministry work.

Everything we do needs to align with those missions.
