Donald Trump arrested... FINALLY!

I doubt Biden has a very good chance, unless Trump is a presidential candidate. Too many independents and moderate dens dislike Biden, and too many independents and moderate Republicans dislike Trump.
My tongue-in-cheek comment was in reference to the sense requirement in your post. Good luck with that ounce. "Weighed in the balance and found wanting." :Wink

First, God is a God of justice.
Donald Trump committed a crime in paying hush money to these high paid prostitutes. God is dealing with him.

Second, Barack Obama is no more a Christian than Donald Trump. Both are slaves to Sin and the Beast. Both are desperately in need of repentance lest they suffer eternal damnation.

Third, this world and its lusts is consuming itself in destruction, just as God has appointed it to happen. I pray that people would repent, but the Bible tells us those who are under the Beasts mark and who are sleeping with the Great Prostitute will not repent, but will harden their hearts unto destruction.

I find no pleasure in the death of wicked. Their eternal suffering is sad, even though it is just.
First, paying hush money is not illegal.

Second, Trump has been ACCUSED of a crime. It reminds to be seen that he actually committed a crime.

Third, when did God give you a Holy Spirit detector that allows you to see inside someone and determine whether Holy Spirit indwells or not?

Both Obama and Trump are professing Christians. You do not know otherwise. The best anyone can say is whether their behavior is consistent with a profession of faith.

And… since you do not have ANY personal day to day observations of either of these Christians behavior, your comments should be considered slander of brothers in Christ.

peace to you

You mean, when did God give us Christians a spirit of discernment?

*1 Corinthians 12:7-11*
To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills.

I know that you can know a brother or sister in Christ by their works and their heart of repentance. Since neither Obama nor Trump have ever publicly repented of their sins and they both continue to promote godlessness, it is easy to declare that they are at best prodigal sins, but likely Machiavellian wolves who should be shunned until they repent of their sins.

Please provide scripture that supports your claim that someone must “publicly repent” of their sins in order to be in a right relationship with God.

What you propose reminds me of the Pharisees making a big show and drawing a crowd to proclaim their holiness.

Seems to me Jesus said to make such prayers in private (in a closet)

Peace to you

I never said they must publicly repent. I said they must repent.

How will you know if a person repented?

*1 Peter 1:13-25*
Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” And if you call on him as Father who judges impartially according to each one's deeds, conduct yourselves with fear throughout the time of your exile, knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot. He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last times for the sake of you who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.

Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart, since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God; for

“All flesh is like grass
and all its glory like the flower of grass.
The grass withers,
and the flower falls,
but the word of the Lord remains forever.”

And this word is the good news that was preached to you.

Tell me, when you observe Barack Obama and Donald Trump, do you see what Peter tells us we should be doing, as Christians?

What I observe is two men who have embraced the beast and have worked toward their own glory.

I also observe two men who have embraced Machiavellian strategies to gain power, which is a spirit of antichrist.

These are observations from what is provided to us via the news. If I meet them in heaven, I will apologize for not believing their words since their actions did not cause me to believe them.

Personally, I do not see how a Christian could (with good conscience) support the DNC or GOP. So I don't.

This is what you said in post #64:

.
So, yes, you did say they needed to publicly repent…

Bottom line, you don’t know how they live their lives. All you have is a distorted view based on media that put them both in the worst possible light.

To go on a public forum and claim a professing Christian is not really saved is slandering the brethren and giving the enemies of God occasion to blaspheme His name.

Maybe you should publicly repent since you made these claims on a public forum.

peace to you

That is NOT what Austin said. He simply stated that the two have not made a public confession - He did not say they had to.

So I'm assuming all those who are Christians writing negatively about Obama and Trump didn't vote for Biden either on the last presidential election.

Well yes, he did. He said since they haven’t made public statements of repentance they should be considered, at best prodigals but likely “wolves”.

So, unless they publicly repent to Austin’s satisfaction, he will assume they are not in a right relationship with God.

So, the question again is where is the scriptural support for such a statement.

Both of these men are professing Christians. Just because you don’t like their politics, doesn’t mean they are not.

I understood your statement just fine. You cannot back it up with scripture.

You are slandering professing Christians in a public forum because you disagree with their politics. You are giving the enemies of God occasion to blaspheme.

You have no idea what their personal, spiritual life is like because you don’t interact with them on a regular basis.

I find no where in scripture where anyone is told to make public professions of repentance. Indeed, Jesus said such prayers should be private. We are commanded to confess our sins to one another but that is within a church setting and even then not before the whole church.

The closest thing in scripture to what you are claiming is church displine. Since you don’t attend either of their churches, that leaves you out.

Peace to you

I understood (or misunderstood?) @AustinC to simply be saying that Christians should repent rather than continuing in their sins (I would expect when these sins are brought to their attention) and if they do not repent then they are either false converts or "prodigal sons" (I took "prodigal sins" in his post to mean "prodigal sons").

It is obvious that both Clintons, Biden, Obama, Trump, and Pelosi have done and continue to do things that are labeled as "sins" in the Bible (whether disparaging the leader God has chosen, lying, adultery,.....getting people killed for political reasons....etc).

So I can understand why he would question their faith without declaring their actual salvation as false.

I would hope not, if that is the way they feel about Trump.
That's the way I feel about most of our politicians. Even the godly ones have to tow the party line, so it is basically checking ones faith at the door.

Lets not keep hashing the same thing over and over

AustinC specifically stated “publicly repented”…..

If he misspoke, then let him say so. If he didn’t, let him provide scripture to support the claim we must publicly repent.

If he meant “repent”, he still has no excuse to slander professing Christians on a public board since he has no firsthand knowledge of how these men engage in their spiritual life with God.

He disagrees based on politics and personality and then attacks their professions of faith.
