    Is Al Mohler Right?

That was a very interesting watch, worthwhile for the time spent taking it it. But if it had any bearing on whether women should hold places of authority outside the church, I surely missed it.

Ultra Woke Pope fires Bishop Strickland

Bergoglio is not a pope. At best he is a place holder and at worst he is a demon masquerading as a Catholic bishop. He is not a servant of God but of the New World Order.

    Who/What Is This Woman?

This verse is apocalyptic and is commonly known as the Protoevangelium (first gospel). It is the only place in scripture where the seed of a woman is mentioned and it points toward the only place in scripture where we see a virgin birth, the incarnation of Jesus. “He shall bruise thy head”...

    Changing doctrine:

Interesting thread, but I think everyone has missed the elephant in the room--the SBC. I cannot imagine the SBC permitting a church that baptizes infants to remain in fellowship with them.

    John 20:23...Can Christians Forgive Sin???

It extended past the apostles. Otherwise James wouldn't have included forgiveness of sins in his directive for anointing the sick. ". . and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven." John 5:15.

    John 20:23...Can Christians Forgive Sin???

John 20:23 isn't the only place you will find this doctrine. After Jesus had healed the paralytic in Matthew 9 by telling him his sins are forgiven, there was discussion of the power to heal vs. the power to forgive sins. Then the apostle writes, "Now when the multitudes saw it, they marveled...

    Lifeway Selling Ridgecrest

LifeWay trustees authorize exploration of the sale of Ridgecrest Ridgecrest is Lifeway's last icon of Baptist life. They will lose a lot of money on it this year but in recent years it has operated at a profit. What is going on? Is Lifeway so thin it can't take a big loss on Ridgecrest for...

Was Bible possesion banned by the Catholic Church?

Hobie, you lost me right there. The T.R. didn't come into existence until the early 1500s.

    Changes of Roman Catholic Doctrine

Without any question, the Christian church was founded by Jesus, not the apostles, and first manifested at Jerusalem. Following the conversion of Paul, the center of gravity of the faith gradually shifted to Antioch. From there it shifted to Rome when the two most prominent apostles, Peter and...

    Changes of Roman Catholic Doctrine

I have heard that ever since I was old enough to care about church history, but no one has ever identified that point in history where the Roman church broke off from what you characterize as the “Holy Catholic Church” that was founded by the apostles. I am aware of only two great schisms—the...

    Changes of Roman Catholic Doctrine

It looks like some of these are not doctrines at all but are practices adopted out of habit or convenience. For example, making the sign of the cross and mass as a daily celebration are not doctrinal any more than a Baptist church's decision to have communion once a month or once a quarter...

    Why we dont Baptize

Apparently that problem presented itself very early and the Didache, probably written in the First Century, addresses it. And concerning baptism, baptize this way: Having first said all these things, baptize into the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Matthew 28:19 in...

Is it important to "dress up" for church?

That's a good thought. I don't have a tuxedo but I can easily afford to get one so maybe I should. I have several suits and a number of sport coats but I always choose a suit for church because it is nicer.
