Fluoride Alert!

This fluoride scare nonsense is not supported by science. Sure, in sufficient quantities, it can be poisonous, as can iron or even water.

You have to look hard for non-flouridated tooth paste, but it is out there. We don't knowingly use flouride in anything.

 

Once you get used to the fact that berely 2% of the human population will die painlessly or confortably, you can get rather used to no wasting your time and money (especially since i'm not gettinga job) looking for flouride-free products...

 

I think I'll start using it; I always wanted to learn to dance.

swallowing the amount of a travel tube of toothpaste is toxic. Don't believe me? Go out and buy a tube (less than a dollar at Walmart) and try it.

 

Most people spit the toothpast out into the sink. You should try that?

 

I'm not arguing we should swallow toothpaste...and I do know about China's "junk toothpaste" they've sent...

...but I'm assuming you have a credible source for this claim? Exactly what is the toxin, and what's the lethal dose?

 

Again, a travel tube is a lethal dose.

Flouride contains a small amount of rat poison in it. Don't believe me? Call the number on the back of the toothpaste box.

I remember one time, growing up, I ate some toothpaste... and got deathly sick... of course I didn't tell mom....

She thought I had a stomach flu...
But I can say from experience.... it can make you sick... and I only ate about a teaspoonful!

 

Fluoridated water has done some incredible good for the dental health of our country.

Keep in mind that many substances--many vitamins included--are toxic at one level, yet beneficial at another.

Nitroglycerine can blow you up at one dose, but can ease heart pain at another.

We don't use fluoridated toothpaste for our toddler. We do for our school-aged child.

Fluoride salts are used widely to enhance the strength of teeth by the formation of fluoroapatite, a naturally occurring component of tooth enamel. In the US, NaF was once used to fluoridate drinking water but its use has been displaced by hexafluorosilicic acid (H2SiF6) or its sodium salt (Na2SiF6). Toothpaste often contains sodium fluoride to prevent cavities.
Sodium fluoride was also used as an antibiotic, as rat poison, and in ceramics.

Health & Safety considerations

Fluoride is an acute toxin with a rating slightly higher than that of lead.According to "Clinical Toxicology of Commercial products," 5th Edition, 1984, lead is given a toxicity rating of 3 to 4, and Fluoride is rated at 4 (3 = moderately toxic, 4 = very toxic). On December 7, 1992, the new EPA Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) for lead was set at 0.015 ppm, with a goal of 0.0ppm. The MCL for fluoride is currently set for 4.0ppm - that's over 350 times the permissable level of lead.Fluoride is also considered toxic waste. It is one of the most bone seeking elements known to mankind. The US Public Health Service has stated that fluoride makes the bones more brittle and the dental enamel more porous.

 

I have massive amounts of literature and research at home from when I was in dental school about the use and benefits of fluoride. I have treated patients that grew up without the fluoridated water and I've seen the results...not pretty. I'll take my water and toothpaste with fluoride!

 

I would say brushing with fluoride is ok, just try yer best not to swallow too much. Rinsing is necessary.
