You have to know it goes both ways. You ever walk the streets of Detroit and get shoved off the sidewalk by a gang of blacks. They took the white boy and shoved his head into a brick wall. They should be punished for it.

I read that this statment was made to the entire student body at an assembly. I wonder why the context of this statement isn't reported.

That was the white side of the strory. The black side stated that comment was made while looking at the black side of the auditorium. Racism and hate blind their understanding of the facts, but blur them.

The auditorium was segregated?? That stretches credulity to the breaking point.

I still wonder why the context isn't reported. Maybe it's because Walters would be impossible to villify.

The school administrators didn't segregate the students...they segregated themselves due to the racial tension going on...or at least according to wikipedia.

    The "pen statement"

According to some accounts, on September 5, 2006, a number of black students organized a peaceful sit-in under the white tree in response to the reduced punishment of the perpetrators. The protest was then dispersed by police.[10][11] U.S. Attorney Washington, speaking in July 2007, stated he could find no confirmation of this protest occurring. He could confirm that police were called to the school several times in the days after the noose incident in response to a rash of interracial fights between students.[5]
The principal called an impromptu assembly on September 6, 2006 in which students segregated themselves into white and black sections.

    1. A testament to the sin of racism and the fact that it is still alive and well here. We would not experience a total end to this sin until the Parousia of Christ.

    2. Rhetoric and politicizing are not going to work. That is simply the nature of beast of racism. Sad, though.

Sadly, though, by allowing publicity prostitutes such as the (extorsionist) Jackson and (perjurer) Sharpton to be the spokespeople...

It assures that no common ground will be found. Jackson and Sharpton would lose millions in shakedown money if folks got along.

This will eventually be in the courts, and some civil rights foundations will make millions.

Meanwhile, black and white kids in Jena still don't get along.

    God help us.

I think you are correct. This has only made racial tensions worse and the accounts that try to make Jena look like Nazi Germany or a place of racist whites will only created resentment I am afraid. Sharpton and Jackson are the wrong people to be speaking on this. The Jena 6 are not Rosa Parks and are the wrong people to be made into heroes. I think the Jena 6 are being used by people and they are not helping these 6 young men.

Real white racist groups like the Klan and David Duke may see this as an opportunity to recruit members. There is a need for voices of moderation that do not seek to divide but unite people. I am amazed that in 2007 that race relations are so bad and that this even separates black and white Christians. Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on us!

    Fair is Fair...

What is a Crime for a Black person, should be a Crime for a white person.

If a Black person commits a crime... punish them
If a White person commits a crime... punish them

Prosecutors should not see color, or lack of it, when going after criminals.

Personally, I think the School board blew it also.
The nooses should have been looked upon as terrorism...
And they should not have overturned the expulsion of the students...

But that does not give the black community the right to commit crimes.

If a person is guilty... prosecute according to law... and be fair about it.

It's not that hard of a concept to grasp...but some are just ...uh... how can I put this and put this nicely.... intelligently challenged!

    Jena 6

I thought that the mission of the American Red Cross was to help people in times of disaster. I have a problem with what I saw happening in Jena, La. yesterday.

My problem is not with the people coming to Jena to march, they have that right, but with the American Red Cross giving away supplies to the marchers.

The newspapers have stated that approximately 25, 000 bottles of water were given out. I will not mention any medical care that was provided, but we do have a local hospital that offers excellent medical care, but not for free.

I sat on the balcony of my office and watched the marchers arriving carrying no supplies, but when they left Jena they were carrying bottles of water that was supplied by your organization.

These people were not in a disaster mode, they knew what they were getting into when they came to rally, and should have planned better and brought their own supplies.

I had a house burn in 1985 and lost everything, including my cars and dog, but never got a call or note from the Red Cross. I did not mind that I was not contacted by you and have not ever given it a second thought until yesterday. I have donated faithfully to the Red Cross for the better part of my 56 years, but no more.

I know that in the scheme of things I am just a small drop in the bucket, but I will tell everyone that I know what has happened here, and maybe this small drop will turn into a flood. And yes you can use my name it is James L. Broadwell 111, my address is 329 Pleasant Hill Road, Jena, La. 71342
