I'm not sure what you would call it, but it sure ought to be a crime. Maybe republicide.

Could just as easily be democide.

Fact is that it's not a "crime" at all. The only penalty you can make the politicians pay on this one is at the ballot box.

So you feel that giving up the sovereignty of our nation to a NAU type organization is somehow consistent with upholding the constitution? Or is the oath not binding?

I think it is a crime, because the ultimate law is from the US Constitution, and politicians (rats that they are) have already taken an oath to protect and defend the US Constitution. In fact, I think it is treason.

I think without further knowledge of what you are talking about and without more coherence on your part, there is no way anyone can give a reasonable answer.

I would disagree with such action but as long as the proper constitutional procedures for treaties are followed it would not be a crime.

There is a difference between treaties and compromising national sovereignty.

Not if the constitutional procedures for treaties are followed.

Actually, it's not. As KenH points out, if it's in line with treaty law, then there's nothing illegal about it.

The other part of this is, should the U.S. be part of the world, as a member of a world community, and thus act accordingly, abiding by laws and dictates agreed upon by all members of that world community; or exercise its own sovereign rights over those of the other nation members?

The United States is a sovereign nation, and as such, should not be influenced by the United Nations or any other such organization.
Crime, yes. As one poster responded, of treason.

    Ridiculous.

You don't get to define treason. The Constitution has already done so.

Treaties are approved by the Senate. Vote 'em out if you don't like what they do. In this instance, that is your only recourse.

    Treaties?

The potus has no authority(treaty or otherwise)to surrender national sovereingty.
To beleive otherwise shows a lack of understanding the US constituion, and is really dangerous.
It is no wonder that our country is in the condition that it is in.
I suggest that anyone who thinks its not a crime should get out your copy of the constitution and begin reading it.
To those that know it's a crime ,God Bless you all, maybe there is hope for our country.

I believe the US should in no way cede its sovereignty to any foreign power or conglomerate. But we most certainly are and will continue to do so. It's part of the new world order that is being constructed.
