Last night in our Wednesday evening Bible study we looked at John 9:1-12 and it was amazing to me to see Jesus in action. To think that Jesus has just been in a toe to toe confrontation with the religious leaders in chapter 8 and they pick up some stones to kill Him. He slips away from them and as He is going he notices a blind man from birth and heals him.

I seriously doubt that if I were in that situation I would notice a blind man. I would be more interested in saving my own skin. However, Jesus not only sees this blind man, but has compassion on him to restore his sight and also restore his soul.

Just another reminder to see the people around us each day. How many blind people do we walk right past because we are more interested in something else?

I was noticing a similar thing last night, SBC, in John 11. Twice the text says that Jesus was moved, and then he wept. I looked at the greek words and the wept He did was a silent kind of crying and the weeping the sisters were doing was the wailing type. He knew Lazarus was about to be healed, but He was still compassionate toward those that were hurting. I think I would have been screaming at them to just shut up and let me do my thing! Goodness, there's so much to Him that we just dont even know.

    Wow, tater that will preach!

Isn't it great to know that He is still compassionate and still feels our pains.

Last night when i told my youth group I was leaving them to go to another church, and watching them cry, knowing what we mean to each other, I had to remind myself of what Jesus said in JOhn 14, and what he must have felt to tell them that he had to go away.

There is nothing that we have to go through that Christ cannot empathize with.

naw, actually, the seats were great. They were up high, but no one was in our way (except for a big dude, arms up high swaying, lol). We scalped 4 of our 5 leftover tickets, too, lol. I did forget my binocs, but it was really ok.

I'm not sure if I told you this, I know I couldn't have when this thread started, because this is a public forum, and what I am about to share was a secret at that time. But now I can...

The sermon I was working on on the first page of this thread was a candidating sermon for a church. I had been working on it the afternoon before PastorSBC posted his sermon topic..

I had been praying for God to show me if that was the sermon he wanted me to preach the next week as candidate for Pastor..

WElll...I did... I truly think God used PastorSBC to confirm this for me.. and the rest of the gang that night... Go back and read the first 3 pages and see if you don't get a blessing, and understand where I was coming from that night.

BTW, I start next week as Pastor at this church.
    God is remarkable

    Anyone up for cyberworship tonight?

The Choir director at my church now asked me to sing tomorrow as it will be my last Sunday there..
I first thought of a good ol. Johnny Paycheck song... But didn't want to do that... Then I thought of another bluegrass Gospel song, and thought I'd get tomatoes thrown at me, so I settled for

"Your Love is Extravagant" again by CC.

The first verse i will sing to Jesus, the second to the Church, as it is His Body!

    Ahhh that's good! [IMG]

    Your Love Is Extravagant-

    Your love is extravagant
    Your friendship, it is intimate
I feel like moving to the rhythm of Your grace
Your fragrance is intoxicating in our secret place
    Your love is extravagant

    Chorus:
Spread wide in the arms of Christ is the love that covers sin
No greater love have I ever known You considered me a friend
    Capture my heart again

Spread wide in the arms of Christ is the love that covers sin
No greater love have I ever known; You considered me a friend

    Capture my heart again
    Your love is extravagant
    Your friendship, it is intimate
    -----------

I had to put it on while I found the lyrics.

    He is isn't He!

Nothing like praising him for something in your life to get your blood going!

    I can't wait until tomorrow!
