Easy. Don't torture, which includes water-boarding. Interrogate without torture; treat the prisoners as human beings.

What does that have to do with the question you particularly referenced, '"Why should my taxes pay for some stupid kid's parents who are too stupid to manage their money or living beyond their means, and cannot afford insurance?"

How does any of that have anything to do with the meaning of the original Kennedy quote to start this thread?

Nor has it or Socialism come to power in a nation that has maintained a strong family unit in the home. Regardless of the actions of our elected officials, it is the deterioration of the family unit that should be of concern.

Which is one of the methods used to advance Communism. And it is being done quite regularly.

I think that you have a very interesting point! I never thought of that. I think that Christianity teaches that if you don't work you don't eat--and that to me means capitalism.

I always heard that the Kennedys were thick with FDR and made a lot of money in the liquor traffic thanks to inside information from FDR about when prohibition would end. The Kennedys--John, Bobby, and Teddy--are all known for being unable to keep their pants zipped. Of course, Teddy is an almost hopeless alcoholic.

Along with the bought votes, thanks to daddy Joe, he was riding the still cresting tide of WWII heroism. If I am not mistaken was the book that told his personal heroics on the PT boat released about the time he ran for the presidency?:type:

I don't remember clearly. He was elected in 1960. I find the book published in 1962 per the internet. I was for Nixon but I thought that JFK made a better impression on tv. I could not vote for President until 1964. I did not like Goldwater, and being a Texan at the time, I voted for LBJ. However, my uncle voted for Goldwater; he said that they told him that if he voted for Goldwater that there would be a war in Viet Nam. He said that he did vote for Goldwater and sure enough there was a war in Viet Nam.

Do yopu really believe that 50 million people can't manage their money or are living beyond their means? That's how many Americans don't have health insurance. Just wait about 10 years when the boomers are retiring in earnest and Medicare goes under because we spent the money on an unjust war. You might know a few people then who'll die because we don't have adequate health care.

I agree, this war IS costing this Nation way too much money, this is why there needs to be a National WAR TAX! Which Socialist Nancy Pelosi refused to agree to.

And... as far as your socialist Nation Healthcare plan is concerned, do you think that your socialized National Healthcare plan, WON'T Bankrupt America?

I say, if you socialists want a National Healthcare Plan, fine, then LET THOSE WHO WANT IT, PAY FOR IT THEMSELVES, WITH A NATIONAL HEALTHCARE PLAN TAX! Let them, and only them who want the plan, and take advantage of the Socialist healthcare plan, Be Taxed Doubly for it!

You'd be amazed that the Socialists that WANT the hand outs, But don't want to PAY for it themselves! (those not working are an exception of course...)

Wrong. But, you can send more tax money for Bush's war if you want to.

Wrong! I believe it is incumbent upon the country to care for the underprivileged.

    Nice rant!

The nation is paying for the healthcare of those who cannot afford it. There is Medicaid and here in Indianapolis the county hospital attends to the poor. It is not that the poor are not getting medicine.
