    Hello Everybodyyyyyyyyyyyy!! This is your old pal Grov . . . er . . . Gayla! :wavey:

Sue, Rob and the rest of you Northerners, have y'all been hit with the ice yet? Talked to my mom today, in OKC area, and they have lots of ice and no electricity. The parents have gas heat and stove, so my oldest brother with wife and daughter are staying with them until the power is back on.

My brother went to work and said he wondered if there would be any trees left when the ice is gone. Limbs are falling off everywhere.

Wal-Mart was even closed because of the power outage!

They were using the deck off the back of the house as a fridge.

Kinda hated to mention we're having record high temps. In the low 80s.:saint:

Hi folks! In response to a couple of lovely emails -- yes, I am still alive. Been fooling around on another forum a bit which is inhabited by some very interesting and diverse people. What has been terrific is that several of them have engaged me (they initiated it) in discussions on why I believe what I believe. So Barry tells me I have a 'ministry' there. He finds excuses for everything I do! I've also been answering emails. We get a lot of them. Keeping up with housework and the animals. But MOSTLY, we've been working hard at getting the 3 DVD set of Barry's work done. The first one is totally finished, the second just about done -- only needs a little tweaking, and the third in progress. Barry and I reviewed the script this evening and made a few changes -- well the first half, anyway. I still have to write a rough for the second half and then that goes to the production team who reviews it and rewrites parts so the moderator can be in between some of Barry's interviews and other voiceover quotes and such.

This business of someone in the family being on camera has definitely lost all its glamour around here! It's a LOT of very hard work and we are incredibly grateful to Freedom Films for their extraordinary patience and professional work.

Right now, as I type, I'm almost dizzy with tiredness.

Tanya hasn't had her baby yet? Wow! God bless you, lady!

Rob, you are taking care of a monkey?

Ann, congratulations on your daughter's acceptance.

    Gayla, hi!

    Sue, is R E S T still a dirty four-letter word in your book?

It's not even 9 p.m. here right now. Barry is putting Chris down, God bless him, and then I think we will be hitting the sack.

I miss you all and God bless you.

It must be, Helen, 'cause I'm sure not gettin' enough of it!

    Good morning all,

It is 32º and we are expecting at least one inch of snow today. I'm thankful that most of the ice melted in the rain yesterday! The city has run out of salt, so most of the city streets did not get any...just the main thoroughfares.

As soon as Christmas is over, I will be ready for spring to be sprung! Christmas is the only good thing I can think of about winter.

    I think I'm going to take a break today and R E S T!

Helen -We're watching a six-month old baby girl for a few days for some friends of ours. I just nicknamed her the "howler monkey" because she has such a piercing cry.

    Good Morning Everybody,

We've had ice for two days now. It's supposed to warm up to 36 today, so I expect most of the ice to disappear. Supposedly more ice is headed our way toward the weekend.

Baby Watch - Any news from Tanya?

Cuz - I'm worried bout you Lady. You know what they say about all work and no play. I'll keep leaving treats next to your sewing machine so you don't forget to eat. Today is Hot Blueberry Muffins. Enjoy

Miss Sue - I'm also worried about you. You don't need to be out on the ice. You might bounce; but you might break too. If you want grace on ice-watch figure skating, just don't try to imitate the figure skaters. You might fall and break your...concentration.

Has anybody heard anything about Jim1999? It's been awhile since he posted.

The realtor called yesterday. We should hear something about the house this week. :praying:

I brought in Chicken Pot Pies, Biscuits, and Molten Chocolate Cakes for dessert. Enjoy.

Went to the optometrist the other day, and I need new glasses. I need to pick out something that makes me look smart and thin. Kinda like puttin' chrome hubcaps on a tractor though isn't it?

Just a brief note: We are well in health and spirit, thank you to all who have made enquiries about my absence from posting.

We have been in a 4 month legal battle tryiing to get a bloke evicted from our rental house. He literally destroyed house to the tune of $30,000.00, and we finally got him out Nov 30th........and the repairs began......we hope to have house ready for a young couple for Christmas.

I just haven't had time or the desire to post these past months.

I wish everyone a happy Christmas and God's love ongoing. Again, thank you for enquiries and concern.

    Cheers, and God bless,

    Jim

    Good Morning Everyone!

Cinnamon rolls are coffee are ready. Since it's too late for breakfast this will be called morning break. :D

I should admit though that I'm not actually taking a break. I have yet to get start this morning. Woke up nearly an hour late today. I don't know how that happened. Managed to get everyone up and out on time then sat down for my second cup of coffee and haven't gotten up yet! I have too soon though as I have lots to do. The rest has done me good.

My list of things to accomplish is beginning to dwindle down a bit. I have left to do:

clean the house in preparation for a get together Saturday evening(the house is not in bad shape due to Tanya's undue influence on my normally slack housekeeping skills. I mostly have laundry to sort and floors to clean. Oh and a little more decorating to do.)

get together the ingredients for cheesecake, bread pudding and chicken and dressing for said get together (I have some of this done already)

Finish the sewing: 2 pillows, 1 tablecloth (big project I want done by the 20th), 1 costume (by Monday), 1 outfit for Jenna (by the 20th, but it is cut out already) one black outfit for me(I might already have something that will do) and two t-shirts for Tanya littlest ones (if I can remember to buy the Tshirts!)

A few last minute gifts to buy.

Church Christmas music service Sunday Evening(what I need the black outfit for).

And I think that is it! Things will slow down greatly after Sunday.

    Ya'll have a good day!

Jim, good to hear from you! Glad you are well, sorry about the legal problems. Those are enough to keep anyone busy and frustrated!. At least you got him out. Will there be any way of recovering damages from him?

Jim: It sure is good to 'see' you again!

Sure am sorry about the troubles you've been having. Stop in for a cuppa whenever you have the time.

    Good morning all,

Just sticking my head in the door. It's another busy day and if I sit at the computer too long, I lose the will (power) to get anything done.

    HAGD!

Jim - It's good to see that you're OK. I'm sorry about the house - that's just amazing that these guys have all the rights. ARG!!!

So far today, we've had hail, snow, rain and now sleet. It's an interesting mix! I'm heading off to a funeral in a little bit -once the girls get home. A woman from our church went home from the ladies' Bible study brunch and found police at her door. Her husband, who she was separated from and who had a lot of troubles, killed himself. The wake is tonight so we'll head over there. I'm going to be bringing them dinner on Saturday too. It's a little tough because the son is a vegan but fortunately I have a good recipe that would work for him.

Other than that, all is well. I'm homeschooling today, trying to get work done for our Christmas break. I told my son that he's got 6 more lessons to do. If he wants to get them done now, he can and then he'll have that much more time to just bum around. LOL! I have to keep up with Joanna, though - she's a little more behind because she wasn't understanding some stuff. Of course, she IS only 4. LOL!

So keep warm, keep safe everyone!

    Good Afternoon Everybody,

We heard from our realtor today. There is a problem with the new assessment the bank ordered. So the bank is looking into the problem and that will take up to another 30 days. ARRGHHH!!!!

The weather forecast for today is for a winter storm warning. We went to the store today to stock up on needed supplies just-in-case the forecast is right.

Jim - Good to hear from you again. Sorry about the legal problems. Seems like more and more tenants today have no respect for other's property. Let me guess, if he had paid a damage deposit I'll wager it doesn't come close to covering the damage he did.

I brought in Bruschetta Chicken Bake, Sweet and White Potato Spears, and Chocolate Peanut Butter Cream Pie for dessert. Enjoy.

Ann - Please be careful on the ice. "Slip-Slidin' Away" is cute to sing about, but not to experience.

People say such nice things at funerals...too bad I'm going to miss mine by a few days.

Rob - Knowing what you used to do - that was funny!

Well, Bob just got home from church and made the executive decision to stay home. As much as we want to go, I'm sure our big hill will be tough to get up AND the roads are a mess. I know my friend will understand.

    Hey all,
I am just dropping by for some hot chocolate and some cookies. I have a busy day tommorrow and next week is looking just as full as last week! The kiddos are doing their play tommorrow night at church and then next Sunday morning is the adult choir program. I found out tonight that I get to sing a solo. It always happens to the director's kid no matter how old you get!!!!!!!!! Mom is going Monday to get an injection in her back for the pain and I get to take the day off of work to take her to the doctor and back home and make sure that she follows the doctor's orders... maybe she will stay in bed... I hope. I had better go, I need to get costumes ironed for the play. All y'all getting ice please be careful and no we don't need any down here-please don't share. It snowed a little bit this morning you had to be out in it to know that it happened.
Y'all take care and have a good weekend!

    Good morning all,

It is 18º right now and we are still snowed in, but since I still have the yucky flu, I really don't mind.

Dale did the papers this morning. It took him about an hour to dig his truck out and another 15 minutes getting it unstuck! Our paper route usually takes 20 minutes. It took an hour this morning.

Brent rode the bus to SS and church. He hates it when he has to miss church (which is very seldom). I am by myself except for the two cats. I would love to lay back down on the couch, but I'm sure the cats will not let me sleep...

There are pics of the snow in my front yard and my car covered with the white stuff HERE.

    The sun is shining. :godisgood:

Sue, i'm sorry you are not feeling well! but...at least if you have to be snowed in you don't feel like getting out so, all the things you could/should be doing might not drive you batty.

so far, no baby. we do have an induction set for Thursday 12/20. it is very good to have the end in sight. i have one more doctor appointment to endure on Monday. i don't know what i am looking forward to more...not being pregnant or not having to go to the doctor 2 times each week........

i'm slow moving this am...it is 35...burrrr..but i do have coffee on and hot chocolate on the counter...looks like breakfast will be "fend for yourself".

have a good day & try to stay warm!

    Good Morning Everybody,

We have 6" of snow on the ground right now, and blizzard warnings for the rest of the day. The prediction was for 6'-9" of snow, and I do believe we'll get it if not more.

Sue: LOVE the two-tone car and the Snow-covered Manger scene. The big snowflakes in the last picture look exactly like what we're getting now. Hmmm as a matter of fact it looks like Illinois snow as well. Please take care of your flu - it has a nasy habit of becoming pneumonia when its ignored.

No church for us today. We have a 22 mile commute[one way] and the police are warning everybody to stay off the roads due to deteriorating road conditions and visibility. Unknown if we'll have school tomorrow.

Tanya: That's good news. That will have to be a load off your...mind.

We're having Slow-Cooker BBQ Short Ribs, Acorn Squash, and Banana-Sour Cream Cake for dessert. The snack for later in the day is Vidalia Onion Dip with Homemade Crusty Bread.

    Good Afternoon Everyone!

It's cold here! Brrr! I found out the hard way when I went out this morning without socks. I haven't worn socks since, since, well since last winter!!! I literally had to make a run to Walmart before church to buy sock suitable to wear with my dress shoes! Good thing I had to pick up a snack for Children's Church anyway.

Tonight is the church music worship service, I have to be there at 4. Tomorrow starts final exams for Cass and Cade. Tanya is supposed to have a doc appointment. Cass has to have a costume, by tomorrow. Tuesday night we go to her performance. Wednesday I'm not sure about. Thursday, Tanya will finally have a baby and is Jenna's last day of school and her party day(mandatory Mom attendence). T sister will be in early Thurday morning instead of Friday like I thought, so who knows what'll be going on there that night. Friday T is off. Saturday is Christmas dinner with his folks, unless they decide to have it on Friday, but his parents anniversary is Saturday so I don't think they'll change days on us (we always do Christmas on their anniversary). Sunday is church at their church and dinner after. T's mom gets very few opportunities to show off all her perfect grandchildren at her church so we can't miss that. Christmas Eve will be Christmas with my folks and we are so organized that we don't know if we will be having it here or there.

And that gives you an idea of just how my week will go, so if ya'll don't hear from me again till Christmas, don't worry, I've laid in good supplies of coffee and chocolate!

Sue, take the day to relax and watch the flakes fall and get well! You can't enjoy hot chocolate with marshmallows if you are sick.

Cuz, stay off the roads! If you must move around borrow one of the g-kids sled! :D I'm sure they'd love to see Granddad sliding down the hill. Might like a pic of that myself!

    Island girl, enjoy your solo!

    Blessed be your Sunday Everyone!

A quick "hello" from the NON snowing area of NY. :( Other than the fact that it would ruin the show at church, I SO wish we had snow. Oh well - I'm sure we'll get more.

We have 2 shows at church today - one is on now (started at 3) and then the other is at 7 tonight. I'll be working the "Welcome Center" at the 7PM one. I'll leave Nicole home with the two little ones since she's not feeling well and then Lauren will help with the nursery. Bob's doing all the sound so we're all busy!

Wish I could have brought in some dinner but we've been so busy that I haven't done a lot of cooking. Sorry!

Cuz and Ann: I'd love to send you both some snow, but Andrew informs me that seasonal weight limits are in force on pms.

Many churches in this area cancelled services for today, due to the bad road conditions.

I would definitely send you both some snow if I could. Anything for my younger Cuz and younger Sis. Come to think of it, most of the women in the Coffeehouse are younger than me, except Sue, who is old enough to be my...slightly older Sister. I'm 55 so Sue must be at least 57[but she looks 27.]

    to say the least!

last night the church choir did an awesome job siging the songs they have been working on for the past few weeks. you all would have be so proud of Cindi. until she looks at me and her children. she started to  and i have to admit i had no clue as to why she was laughing so hard. seems she was laughing at me. one part of a song had sign language that the congregation was asked to do along with the choir....key word "asked"....seems i was the only one not doing it. i was too busy holding my tummy as Leah was kicking so hard she was shaking the pew!!! God and deaf people please forgive me. <wink>

ok...it is 4:37am and i have been up for over an hour now.:BangHead: looks like i would enjoy having the house to my self...well other than the cats, but i kicked them off the bed enough times that they are now in hidding....ugh!

unless something unforeseen happens my wonderful hubby will be home tonight. he has been gone for 3 weeks. this is only the 4th time that we have been apart for more than me being in the hospital to have a baby. with him home and the kids back i may end up sleeping all of tuesday away.:sleeping_2:

i love looking at the pics of snow Sue...but you can keep it. i keep thinking that i would like to go further south for the winter. i don't like it when the temps dip below 65...i'm thinking key west, FL should do it.

i have coffee on and hot chocolate....sorry it is too early to cook!

    Good Early Morning, Everyone!

I didn't think I'd see this place all week, but T had to go to work early this morning and I have a little unused time while I'm waiting on the girls to get their acts ready for school. You know, Chris is sooo much easier to get ready for school. He just comes down the stairs and turns on the computer.

When I get the girls off though, it is on to the sewing machine. I have to make hay while the sun shines, even though here the sun isn't bringing much warmth! I have 4 Christmas gifts to embroider and I'm trying to finish my Christmas tablecloth. The machines will be busy today! At least the house is clean. Mostly. Good enough that it can be ignored for a day.

Poor Tanya! She just wasn't in the mood for sign language last night! It was way too funny for such a serious song as we were singing.

I made coffee and brought in doughnuts. Fresh juice and milk in the fridge.

    Ya'll have a good day!
