Did Timothy own a refrigerator in which to store his grape juice (wine without alcohol) so that it would not ferment as grape juice naturally does when it is not refrigerated? The alcohol of the natural fermentation process is not quite the same as the grain alcohol that is added to modern wine and is beneficial to people who have ulcers caused by a certain kind of bacteria.

I would like to predict that before the day is over, we'll be hearing from Columella and Pliny...

Personally, I would like to see this thread become consistent with some on related subjects, that can be found in the "General Baptist Discussions" section, and been closed, over the last couple of days,
by the Moderators killing this thread, [IMG]

    by way of [IMG]

    and [IMG] [IMG]

Now that is a prediction, I would like to be able to make!

Will pray that your predictions become more accurate.

;) I won't try to hide my disappointment... Of course, why post the Pliny stuff again--it's still in the archives.

That was only one reason for not posting Pliny or Columella. Another was knowing how historical fact is not believed concerning Biblical wine and the preservation therof.

Did ya know, the Bible warns against making false predictions?

SFIC, good point... I would like to officially change my wording from "I would like to predict" to "I suspect".

A little late for that since the prediction and the time set for it have past.

There ar no right answers to wrong questions.
I would like to ask if drinking wine pleases God. If you think it does drink up .
If you believe the scriture that says "who hath sorrows who hath woes who hath contentions who has redness of eyes" then you should rethiink drinking wine or any alcoholic beverage. After all who would want sorrows who would wnat woes. These sorrows and woes are unnecessary but if you want sorrows and woes then drink up since the word of God guarantees that you will have these woes and sorrows.
