We our bound by the moral law of God brother. We can not justify lies, and murder just because the "state" does it.

And while we're on the subject of the London Confession, let's not forget Chapter 24:

Now, whether the present Gulf War is a just war is certainly up for debate; I would submit that it is, and that it is at least more just than the first Gulf War in which there was no immediate threat to the United States, only its economic interests.

You seem adept at missing the point. By your own argument from the Baptist Confession, the "moral law" is not the passages from Deuteronomy that you tried to pass off earlier.

I have no problem with a just war. A war of self defence is a just war. To lie about a nation, no matter how wicked thier ruler was, and then invade and kill tens of thousands of innocents is wicked to its very core.

Countries with a better moral record than the US and Better Standard of Living:

Canada, all the Scandinavians, Holland, Singapore, Costa Rica (well it depends on how you measure quality of life) but I lived there, so I can say it, despite an average 300/mo income, which is enough there, they have social medicine for everyone. How about all those that signed the Kyoto pact? Oh, need it say more?

and they have a better than 50% income tax rate, long, long waits for specialists such as cardiologists and just try to get heart surgery if you are over 65. Get real.

Holland, nice moral example, where hookers openly solicit tourists and the sex industry equals $1 billion a year & it's LEGAL. Nice. Oh, and prostitution is also LEGAL in Singapore and Costa Rica, so what is it exactly you are trying to tell us?

I am telling you they don't start wars. They don't deny people healthcare on the basis of money and they don't pretend to be holier than thou.

As for the govt. stopping prostitution, they've failed. Any American can afford to go to Vegas and find legal hookers or simply use the ones next door if they choose. Just another case of govt. trying to convert religion into law.

I don't want them in my church, and I don't want churches in govt. You would agree if you were a minority religion. Unless you think Iran has the right idea.

PAT Robertson, stay in your church, please don't kill anymore Supreme Court justices with your prayers. he and people like him are an embarrassment to Christians.

Get real. </font>[/QUOTE]As for taxes, I don't mind, as long as I receive services. I paid $6,000 for med insurance last year and I never get sick. When I lived in Costa Rica, we had a National Doctor on staff at our school... no long lines. Try knowing what you're talking about. In any of these other countries, one has a choice to use National healthcare or to buy it privately. Apparently the lines aren't too long for them to dig into their pockets like we must.

Read a newspaper other than your [***personal insult removed***] local, and watch something besides Fox. I have lived in these countries and taught 1000's of people who live in them. I only wish Americans could be half as open minded, thoughtful and kind as the students I have served.

We are an arrogant nation and I am here now to assist in changing it back to a "kinder gentler" one, unlike the one Bush has created.

We used to be respected around the world, yes, even when Clinton was in office. The UN, and most of our previous allies now just shake their heads in disgust. We are wrong and I have the courage to admit it.
