Caroline they can't tell anything about me from my profile either for all anyone knows my info could be made up too. there is nothing in my profile or letter that would allow anyone to know who i was talking about. i offered (and i mean it) $5,000 to anyone who could identify any person in my story.

Gossip isn't gossip without names and personal info.

i posted this on another forum to get a fair account of the topic since so many are bias here, which porves my point on the ANONYMOUS thread on why people would even write an anonymous leter in the first place. Cause people are down right mean and judgmental, sad to say even "christians"

It is clear to me that frenchy is determined to be the martyr. Come in here and stir up the place and condemn it so that he/she can feel good about their "stand for Jesus". It has happened here before and I guess we serve a purpose for those who want to see themselves as God's gift to the church.

One honest question----Frenchy do you really care what others think about your posts? I think not, but your goal of becoming a martyr for whatever cause you have is clearly getting closer and closer.

And I am with Bro Bob anyone is welcome to come to the desert and visit with me.

A gossip goes around revealing secrets, but those who are trustworthy can keep a confidence. Proverbs 11:12-13

A troublemaker plants seeds of strife; gossip separates the best of friends. Proverbs 12:18

A gossip tells secrets, so don't hang around with someone who talks too much. Proverbs 20:19

As surely as a wind from the north brings rain, so a gossiping tongue causes anger! Proverbs 25:23

If you claim to be religious but don't control your tongue, you are just fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless. James 1:26

Get rid of all malicious behavior and deceit. Don't just pretend to be good! Be done with hypocrisy and jealousy and backstabbing. 1 Peter 2:1

I think it depends on one's definition of gossip.

    Here are three definitions:

1.Rumor or talk of a personal, sensational, or intimate nature.

2.A person who habitually spreads intimate or private rumors or facts.

    3. Trivial, chatty talk or writing.

I think it is gossip when it hurts someone; when it is intended to hurt someone; and when the other person or others really don't need to know the information.

I have seen posts on other Boards where the poster did not name names, but I knew who the person was talking about and I think it was gossip because it could have hurt the person and in one case it could have jeopardized a person's job.

Just leaving out names does not justify the telling of the story and does not keep it from being gossip.

I agree with Bapmom and Karen, sometimes there is a very fine line. Sometimes it is just best to not relate a situation for any reason.

I learned a long time ago if I don't want something told or if I don't want any one to know about it, it is best to tell NO ONE!
