Good Morning and thanks to all who've made entries in our caring bridge guestbook, they were and still are a great encouragement to Gayla. She is doing well this day, things appear to be under control. Which I'm very glad for, I'm hoping for an uneventful birthday for her today...In the meantime I'll be jumping another job hurdle which should result in me starting work next week PTL!!

Hey all! Came in to sit a spell and just relax. VBS is over and in 1.5 hours will be the VBS fair. I have to pick up the kids in a bit from home so I figured I'd enjoy the quiet at church until I need to leave.

I brought in a bunch of leftover M&Ms - that's about all that's left! Too many mouths to feed this week. Praise the Lord!

Carl, that's great news about the job! Did Gayla get her birthday cards in time for her birthday?

    Good morning all,

I am up early for me, but I went to bed early last night. Yesterday was an exhausting day for me.

I had an appointment at the lab for blood work at 8:00, didn't get out of there until 9:00 so was late for my eye appointment.

I was diagnosed with 'macular degeneration' in my left eye and my eye doctor is setting up an appointment for me with a retinal specialist next week.

There is no cure and eventually leads to blindness, but depending on the type I have and how advanced it is, I understand there are laser treatments that may slow it down. He dilated my eyes and I only ran over one curb on the way home. LOL

I had a dental appointment at 11:00, then had to go buy groceries and stop by the bank and post office.

I was emotionally and physically drained when I got home. I don't think the 100% humidity helped me either.

Anyway, today is another day. Laurie (oldest daughter) is coming down from Indiana for the day. I always enjoy her visits.

    HAGD!

Sue - My grandmother had sever macular degeneration and she STILL went bowling every week - consistently bowling 200+! She just would look at the pins and see out of the top of her eye the triangle above the pins (on the wall) and aim for that. She had to have someone tell her what pins she knocked down. :D She led a full life - living on her own for years with the MD and did great. I pray that you can get some treatment that will help forstall the worst of the degeneration for as long as possible.

I'm gonna run - a big storm just started so it's shut down.

    Good afternoon all,
I am just popping in for a minute. I need a pepsi! I brought some cookies and some fresh fruit in to snack on. M&M's unfortunately aren't allowed on my diet. I am trying to be a good girl and watch my cholesterol-no I didn't eat any of those cookies. I need to go check on laundry-I am trying to avoid Wal-Mart since it's tax free weekend and school starts soon I know it is a mad house plus it is way to hot at a lovely 100 degrees.
    Y'all have a blessed weekend.

Shawna, her hubby, and two grandsons pulled in from Missouri about 12:30 a.m. this morning. I made beds on the floor for the boys, gave my bed to daughter and SIL, and I slept on the couch. Dale got to keep his bed because he's working 10 hours a day and needs his rest!

I went to sleep at 2:30 and got up at 5:30, so coffee is ready and all the ingredients for Boiled Omelettes are setting on the counter. There's also whole wheat bread for toast and sugar-free grape jelly. Make your own. :)

    Thanks for the breakfast Sue!

so far i have washed 3 loads of laundry, put cinnamon bread on for the kids, ran the vac in the living room and gave Leah a bottle. kara has unloaded the dishwasher...now i need to reload it.

at some point i will end up at cindi's house so we can work on the cheer leading outfits. i am so ready for them to be done. i'm not so much ready for the work to be done as i am for the money they will bring.

ugh...speaking of money...my hubby just called and said he was handed a lay off slip. wonderful :BangHead: looks like the cheer leading money will be more needed than i thought.

    Good Monday Morning Everyone!

I started the day off by waking my kids up at 7! Even though they don't think so, it's all for their own good. School starts in just one week! If they don't start getting up now, they'll be sad children come the end of next week. School here starts on a Monday with full days all week.

Funny isn't it, Tanya, how we never get to use our "extra" money for ourselves??? Mine's been spoken for since the beginning!

I have a driver and its wonderful!!! It's great to send Cass on all those little errands I have to run.

    Time to sew!

    Good Afternon Everybody,

Cuz y'all gotta move back nawth. Our schools start the day after Labor Day [by stste law.]

Sue my MIL has MD and yes it has decreased her vision some, but her daily activities haven't changed much. I can't remember which type she has the "wet" or the "dry" but it's the less dmaaging of the two types.

What is this "extra money" that people are talking about? They say money talks...it sure does, mine says goodbye.

Gotta run, I'm making Seared Pork Roast with Currant Cherry Salsa, No-Bake Coconut Cream Pie, and Peppermint Ice Cream Pie for the potluck before Bible Study tonight.

Cuz, Tanya talked me into helping make 30 cheerleading outfits! Since we're being paid, we ain't to bad off, but instead of us getting to use it for things we need/want (mostly want :D ) it is getting sucked out of our wallets for household needs almost before we can get paid!

Ain't no such thing as "extra" money!

Sure there's extra money! It goes to pay those little luxuries like electric and stuff, does it not?!

The last few days have been a little wild! I have NOT been feeling good, but had a lot to do. So much that I turned down the chance to work at a newspaper place, but a bit part of that was that I'd have to move to another town, and I don't even have a place where I am now, so I wasn't seeing that as a possibility. If *could* stay here and do it, but an hour drive there and an hour back with these gas prices and the amount of time I'd have to take off for doctor stuff...just wouldn't be right to take it.

So I'm relieved to have made the decision, but also kinda pukey and upset, because I wanted to do it. REALLY wanted it. Oh well. If God wanted it for me, it would have happened, right? But why does he want me in a worse position? Or would that end up being worse? :tonofbricks:

Ok, now I'm getting too deep for the coffee house. LOL I just ate two cookies and I'm not used to that much sugar at once anymore, it's gotten me in a flurry of emotion!

Good cookies though...the break and bake kind. BTW, they really mean it when they say not to put them in the microwave. They catch on fire. They can also get an avalanche looking thing with a bit of smoke coming out, which when you poke with a fork, explodes and a lot more smoke comes out. (found that out when I thought I'd try it again and just try putting it in for less time) It's kinda fun, although I can definitely see where it could maim you for life if you weren't careful. But now it's a challenge. I'm figuring out different ways to make it work, including using a few seconds, turning it, a few more seconds, making tiny cookies out of one block of it, etc..

But don't try it. LOL If you do, I had NOTHING to do with your decision and warned you!

    Hey Geener, and everyone else!!
Been busy myself..took Agee to have a colonoscopy this morning...all clear. I'm glad she's ok but sometimes I feel like we're wasting our time on doctors...with all her problems they just never find anything, cept when they talked about the lupus...but all the problems that can be related to that she's had for years.
Was trying a new business venture online which seems to have turned out to be a scam...least I didn't lost a lot of money like some did. I know everything might get cleared up...but I doubt it with all the actions being taken by the Attorney Gen., & other Fed. law enforcement agencies.
leavin out next Tues to go to New York to work a few days...BH has gotten used to me being back home & now I have to go again.
Well you all have a Blessed Evening!

I haven't been here due to normal life and now a stomach bug. It's icky and has me knocked for a loop. NOT good timing since we're due to go away on the boat on Saturday and I have a TON of stuff to do before then. Oh well. Worst case, we leave Sunday although DH won't be too happy with that. But I also don't think he wants a cranky wife. ;)

I'll try to check in on vacation but if I don't, I'll see you all in 2 weeks!! :wavey:

I was thinking about Agee today as I drove home! Well, actually drove around. I was lost and looking for hints that I was going the right way. I saw a sign that said "Agee Rd." and figured that was my hint that I was ok and to keep going. LOL (yes, I think God talks to me about little things like that sometimes, call it crazy, but I found my way home)

I get my own colonoscopy in a few more days. How did she do with it afterwards? They say not to drive after, but I figure if I wait a while, hang around the hospital, take a nap for a while, I should be ok to drive after about four hours. Do you think she was back to normal within that time?

    Good morning,

It's about time you got back here to make coffee, Shane!

They induced my granddaughter's labor over an hour ago, so 'Mark Owen' should be making his appearance any minute!

It is nice and cool here this morning...57º. I just wish it was spring instead of fall! Where did the summer go?

I've got to get dressed so I can go to the hospital and get a picture of the new great grandbaby. I will post it when I get back.

Well, Owen Mark, has arrived! I wish I could keep that name straight!

He was born at 7:02 this morning, weighing in at 7#9oz, 20½ inches long with dark hair.

    Still don't have a picture...maybe later today.

Congratulations Sue!! How wonderful that your family is growing...and growing...and growing. :) I can't wait to see pics.

No coffee for me. My stomach has been a mess since Wednesday night and it's getting kind of old. I had horrible cramps on Wednesday night that ended up....productive but nothing since then. However the cramps are not going away but we ARE!!! We are leaving tomorrow so I pray that this whole thing settles down soon. I may just take some meds to see if that helps but I usually would rather that I let nature take it's course. If you all could pray that it clears up soon! Thanks!

    Morning all,
Not much happening here-work is well a mess- they are waxing the offices and one of the classrooms today. The other classroom is waiting for now and oh yeah, just when I get my classroom back up and running for four count them four kids. I find out my new carpet is coming Thursday! Wouldn't you know it-I take off one day and we are tearing my room up! I just got it fixed!:tonofbricks:
Oh well, life does go on- sorry to be griping. Please keep me in your prayers. There are a lot of changes taking place and a lot of stress on me. I brought donuts and fruit. I am grabbing some juice and gonna run. The people across the street are having a yard sale and selling a bed I am in love with. I can justify buying it because it is a king and all I have now is a twin. I am watching to make sure it stays for awhile while I make up my mind.
    Y'all have a blessed day!

    Good morning all,

Big day today! It is our church's 60th anniversary and Pastor Bob will be preaching, along with another guest preacher.

We will be having ribeye steak dinners, courtesy of the church, and an all day sing, with special music. Should be a great day.

    HAGD!
