If the war with Japan was not racist then why were German and Irish NAZIs in the US not locked up as decent Japanese AMERICAN citizens were?

    Legalize pot & coke

The US keeps the problem with Mexico going by supplying customers for expensive Mexican pot. Legalize the stuff and the Mexican border problem will go away. Pot is the #1 cash crop in BC, Washington, Oregon, and Humbolt County, Cal. If it was legal the price would be lower than tobacco and that is why it never will be legal.

I don't agree that the US supplies Mexico with custumers for their pot or any other drug as far as that goes. Mexican drug lords have seized on the oppurtunity for the never ending demand of drugs. Failure by our previous Presidents to not do anything about securing the border has made the problem only bigger.

The only way the border wars will end is when we finally become one big happy third world country as Mexico becomes the 51st state. No problem. :BangHead:

AGREE! Except that then the entire world will again be 80% serfs and no one left to discuss economic conditions except a few history professors.

If I am not mistaken, I believe that restitution was paid to the victims (Japanese Americans) of what took place during WW2. This happened during Ronald Reagan's time in office.

The reason that they were locked up was because Japan attacked us. We had no way of knowing who the enemy was. Kind of like what happened with 9-11, except, those involved had been in our country for at least two years.

We could also say it was the racist executive order from the sitting democrat president.

Restitution or not, the locking up of Japanese citizens was not justified. Now back to the op.

Racism being mixed with this discussion is ridiculous. There has never been a serious effort to control the borders. With many troops coming home from various places overseas, I would be all for stationing them on the southern US border until the violence stops and the borders are under control.

Sorry, looks like my local paper has yet to join the internet. They don't even have a web-site. I think I still have the paper at home, it might have something to link to in it.

I live on the border- and this is the dumbest 'stretch-of-the-imagination' thread I have seen on the BB in a long time. Only people who have never lived here could make such ridiculous comparisons.

What we oughta do is send the illegal ones home. Unfortunately since they all vote Demo, it's not gonna happen.

You might check the attitude toward people of German extraction during WWI.

    MP Wins the "Spin-it" Award....

How you can dare say that I am "race baiting" because I have a concern over what is happening on our border is a "vicious" lie! No matter how you try to spin-it now, you are patently nothing more than a person of lies and racial bigotry. I am not concerned, nor did I mention the race of any of those coming over our borders and attacking American citizens. I am solely CONCERNED about the safety of American citizens, and what I see as a very destabilizing situation taking place, down Mexico way!

Should these cartels start firing mortars and rockets over the border into the USA, will that change your view of my legitimate concerns?

I see much larger problems coming out of these border skirmishes, just wait and see!

MP is just showing his liberal colors. Anytime one disagrees with another who happens to not be of the Caucasian race, he wants to accuse them of race baiting. He and others on this board will attempt to steer legitimate criticism down the nearest rabbit trail. Sadly, they succeed too often. Let him call me a racist if he chooses, I will not reply in kind. He doesn't know my heart nor my beliefs. I too believe the borders should be CLOSED and illegals should be be DEPORTED even if they are Hispanic, Chinese, African, Caucasian or any other race.

Curious. You are a bag of contradictions. You claim to know my wants and beliefs, yet assert correctly that I don't know yours. That is true, but neither do you know what I believe.

You also seek to use the label "liberal" as an epithet. I am proud to be a liberal in some issues, and conservative in others. Yet, your ilk views the world in binary terms, and see those with differing opinions as a monolith rather than individuals with widely ranging views on many issues.

The situation is HUGELY blown out of proportion by our "negativism sells" media and "nanny government". Those of us who live on the border LAUGH at such ridiculous sentiments.

Yes, there are battles. But every day millions of people, Mexican and American, cross the border- legally, I might add- to work, shop, visit family, and so forth. It is no more dangerous to live here than it is to live in NYC. Of course, just as it is in NYC there are areas anyone with common sense should avoid during certain hours, and there are places that you should go expecting trouble- night clubs, bars, str_p joints, ect. Avoid those areas and you will almost certainly never see a shoot-out or be in danger.

Tee Hee, 'binary' -- you sure use some strange terms there MP :)

Oh, same as 'binary' in math: 1 or 0, black or white, crimson or creme, yes or no, on or off.

How to spot a liberal on the Baptist Board:

    1. They liberally use epithet terms (usually without any idea of what it means)
    2. ...

Of course, 'liberal' here as I use it means 'generous'.

And here is the logic of prejudice:

The bait and switch logical error:

One note a feature of some set to be used as an epithet.
One notes a person has that attribute.
One says that epithet applies to each subject of the epithet set with all the attributes.
One tosses out a binary epithet.

    Example:
One note a feature of some set to be used as an epithet.
    LIBERALS ACCEPT MORE ALIENS

One notes a person has that attribute.
ED HAS THE ATTRIBUTE: ACCEPT MORE ALIENS

One says that epithet applies to to all subjects of the epithet set with all the attributes.
    LIBERALS WEAR YELLOW TIES

One tosses out a binary epithet.
ED IS A YELLOW TIE WEARING LIBERAL

I am liberal with my money. I gave 134,000$ out of my first Million to the Alameda Baptist Church of Norman, Oklahoma. (That is 13.4% for you folks quick to compute numbers). Of course, 'liberal' here as I use it means 'generous'. (BTW, the lord blessed me with my Million dollars in only 24 years :godisgood: )

BTW, I don't own a yellow tie. Being the chief bouncer* in my Church I wear 'fall-off' ties and short hair. But come to think of it, a yellow tie might look good with my greenish-gray suit ...

A model of clarity. I am sure all on this Forum can give the amen to that assessment!
