You are wrong. She did give a reason for quitting: it was because of frivolous ethics complaints brought by people like you the state had spent $2 million dollars that could have been better spent elsewhere. Also her family had spent $500,000 or were that much in debt because of frivolous ethics complaints brought by people like you.

Frivolous complaints? You mean like the nonsense over the President's birth certificate?

It wasn't frivolous when they investigated McCain. And any frivolousness could be done away with by coming up with the long form rather than fighting against it with lawyers. But if course you and I are both off topic aren't we.

I can't wait to start reading Palin's memoris and quitting half way through. Of course I would not be quitting, but stopping for "higher callings."

I can see how a wink and a smile from any cutie could make some men want to defend her.

Would that higher calling be the rereading of "bo"s books? I suspect it would!

    Pathetic!

Either you did not understand the humor or you have no sense of humor. This is a joke going around Alaska at the moment ... or so I have been told.

It is speculated that the higher calling the Palin is refering to is making a boatload of money from book deals, reality shows, the talk circuits etc. She has speculated about this before. It is easier than staying committed to the Governership of Alaska.

There is another thread in this forum in which the consensus seems to be that a politician that is running for an office than the one that they are currently holding should resign because they are not actually doing what they were elected to do by campaigning for a different office.

If Palin is seriously considering a 2012 run for President she may have decided that she has her work cut out for her and is simply getting started now. More than just campaigning for the nomination she will have to get the Republican party re-organized and moved back to conservative values if any Republican is going to win in 2012. Such a rebuilding of the Republican party IMO would be a "higher calling".

If she indeed left the office of Govenor of Alaska to seriously lay the ground work for running for President then it should be also the consensus that she did the right thing in resigning.

Careful there Old Regular, nasty name calling might get you banned from the board.
    From KTLA website:http://www.ktla.com/news/landing/ktla-sarah-palin,0,178319.story

Even the most elitist fo the Conservatives such as Krauthammer have turned their backs on Palin.

What is credible is that a woman running for the VP spot would allow this young man to live in her house. Do you believe it is O.K. for young unmarried people to live togethor? Appparently Sarah did.
It don't get any better than that.

You are making assumptions which are unwarranted. You assume that Sarah Palin and her husband allowed this young man to share sleeping quarters with their daughter. It is equally plausible that they had him bunking in another room and that they supervised his activites closely.

You should check the unChrisitan attitude.

So you agree that it is o.k for even the appearance of sin to be existing in a household. I don't have those kind of values.
Hey Targus, why don't we spend the remainder of this thread calling each other unChristian. Your attitude is not one iota better than mine.
Hey Old Regular, looks like we have another "bo"lover.

The appearance of sin in such a situation would be in the eye of the beholder.

It is not my place to make assumptions about activities in their home of which I have no knowledge.

I did not say that you are unChristian. I am saying that your assumption that there is sin involved in that particular situation when you do not have such knowledge is unChristian.

I am sorry but the meaing of this comment is lost on me.

Letting the boyfriend move into the house is not, in my opinion, setting a good example for others. I would never allow a boy or girl friend to move into my house with my kids. There are enough opportunities for trouble in normal life. Put two teenagers, with teenager hormones in the same house and it is simply asking for trouble ... no matter how good the kids are.
