    Hi Everyone,

I am looking for a music theory curriculum to use with 1st - 6th grade students to teach them how to read music in a fun, light-hearted way that hopefully will have built into it some Biblical teaching/truths. Anyone have one you've used that you could recommend??

    Thanks,

I do not have any formal materials but always use Biblical numbers in my guitar lessons.

Example : The numbers 3-7-12 are dominating throughout music and the Bible.

Major chord is made from 3 notes [the 1-3-5 notes] of a 7 note major scale.
3 chords [1 4-5] are the building blocks for a song.

    Harmonies are in 3rd intervals. 1-3-5 --------------

Any key of music has 12 different notes [ a chromatic scale ]

    3 The Trinity

    7 The perfect number 7 seals-7 trumpets-7 days in a week-7 continents
    7 colors [3 primary 4 secondary]

    12- 12 tribes of Israel- 12 disciples- 12 months in a year
