You bring up an interesting point. I have noticed during my life that the sin preachers most rail agains is usually the one they have the most difficulty with in their own life.

I never trusted Haggard, even before he was caught. He had a big mouth smile, but his eyes never smiled. His eyes always looked angry, even when he was 'smiling.'

No the point of the post was to refute that gays by nature cause problems with military structure. Historically this has not been the case. And they are not questionable. I'm also commenting on how hypocritical it is. To be consistent kick out all fornicators, alcoholics, Adulterers, homosexuals, theives, etc... However just with the first three where would that leave our military below half of what it is now? On the other hand I suspect our military would be better off.

It's not just preachers. People who yell "racism" all the time most likely have a problem in that area, themselves. The same goes with charity. Those who claim others don't give enough are most likely doing it out of guilt.

Hmmmm... is this an admission of a failing on your part to support the poor?

That is what you rail against the most.

This is absurd! We know that homosexual conduct is disruptive in all of society and we know it no less so in the military. We know it is wrong! We know that sexual relations between members of the military introduces tensions that can adversely effect the performance of duty. We know that heterosexual conduct is can be a problem but because there is still some measure of separation it may still be controllable. We know that homosexual conduct, on the other hand, would be uncontrollable because of the close proximity of males to males and females to females in the barracks, ship, and field conditions that are part of the military life. That is so obvious it seems ridiculous to have to even elude to it.

Our President who is suppose to be a "minister of justice for the Lord" should be concerned with the suppression of evil in our society including the military and should be concerned with maintaining the maximum effectiveness of our military in war fighting. Instead, he is paying no attention to his duties and is taking steps that will only validate the claims of homosexuals. He has fallen victim to the deceit of Satan's lies in this case the ones that imply that homosexuality really isn't that big of problem and won't cause any problem. It's just another version of "Did God really say...? and "Thou surely shalt not die!" He has failed in his duty and, shamefully, not nearly enough of America's citizens can even discern that there's a problem with it. That's because a lot of us are being deceived by the lies.

The argument to focus away from the issue at hand - homosexuals openly serving in the military - to other sinful conduct is nothing but part of the deception. It's an attempt to make homosexuals in the military a none issue just because there is other sinful conduct therein. By this foolish logic we would have no restraints on anything at all because no restrictions could be implemented unless every restriction were implemented. It seeks to make man impotent in his ability and duty to restrain sin by judgment of what can and should be done. This also is part of Satan's deceptions.

Homosexuals should absolutely be barred from service. We should not lower the standards that have wisely been in place for many generations. There is nothing good for society or the military than can come of this - only the potential for greater evil can come of it.

Supporting homosexuals openly serving in the military only provides more support to the homosexual agenda which will not stop at that goal. Taking such position does not seek to restrain that sin in our society. It only helps the homosexual - no one else. Therefore, directly or indirectly it does amount to active or passive support for the sin.

The issue of fornication is completely separate and nothing but an attempt to detract from the issue at hand.

It's not written out - it's discerned by those who have been among gay people and have noticed the trajectory of a steady trend of gay rights activism. It used to be, "we just want to be able to do what we want in the privacy of our homes."

Then it became, "children need to learn about homosexuality in school so they know about AIDS and can also accept that every sexual practice as okay or else they are prejudiced."

Then it was if you said you thought homosexual relationships were immoral, you were called a "homophobe." This is still true.

Then there came the GLBT clubs in high schools, then in some middle schools.

Now, it's if you deny marriage to same sex couples, you are denying basic rights, and we must accept all forms of sexuality in all areas of society as okay.

It's just a pattern plain as day one can trace from the 80s and continues.

It's much, much more than giving rights - it is definitely that everyone is supposed to go along with it as okay. Not all gay people may be pushing this, but the activists and the ones dealing with political and legal issues are, as well as straight counterparts.

All people have great difficulty with sin in their lives. Our nation is full of sins - one of which is homosexuality - that Satan wishes to legitimize through his many deceptive lies. We'd better "rail against" them all whether we personally have difficulty with them individually. Part of Satan's goal is to discredit the messenger and, unfortunately, sometimes it isn't that difficult to do considering the corruption of man. Certainly there are some very corrupt preachers in this world. The Bible says so even in ancient times. So do we stop because there is corruption among us. Is not the truth still the truth since it is not dependent upon us but we upon it? Preach what God's word says and it will stand even if the messengers fall. Homosexuality is wrong. Let's not be party to any effort that seeks to legitimize it in any way or lends support to its advocates. Let's be the salt and light of the world. Let's insist that our civil government perform its Biblical duty to restrain evil and punish wickedness.

Typical one-sided moderating. It is insinuated that I am gay, but that's okay. But for me to make a retort in response, I get deleted. Way to go.

The only reason I could figure Mitch keeps asking is he is seeking companionship of a certain nature.

When I get an apology and an admission that you stepped way over the line, we can discuss it.

We don't have to discuss it. Nothing to discuss. I asked a question because you refused to acknowledge the well known agenda. That seems rather odd and a common practice by homosexuals because they do not want their agenda identified.

Honestly it was not intended to insult. ***Moderator note*** Insinuating remarks will continue to be removed in violation of BB rules and posters be placed in consideration of suspension----IOW---final warning to clean conversation up

You still can't ignore the fact that your accusation that I am "excusing sin" is wrong. It's a false accusation, and you need to repent of making such a false accusation.

Further, you can't get around the fact that you're saying it's okay for unrepentant fornicators to be allowed into the military. By your own definition, it is you, not I, who is excusing sin.

Baloney! I haven't "accused" you of anything. I try my best to avoid all that sort of useless personal bantering that drags us all down.

Baloney! I haven't said anything that takes up for this sin. I've said it's just not the issue of this discussion and efforts to compare it to homosexuality are nothing more that distractions.

Once again, the issue is that our President has taken a step that could allow homosexuals to openly serve in the military and that's a bad move. Everything I've written is to point that out, explain why it's wrong, and encourage opposition it to. Let's see if we can't discuss that issue.

Oh, yes you have. You have made several posts where you said my position and positions like it are attempts to "normalize evil" and "excuse" homosexual behavior. That is completely false.
The reason you don't like the argument is not because it's not the issue of discussion, but because it pokes a huge hole in your position, and demonstrates an inconsistency in application. If you want to be inconsistent, that's fine, but dont' pretent that your position is something it isn't, and then accuse others of being inconsistent, normalizing evil, and other such nonsense.

It seems to me you want to turn this in to a personal fight, Johnv, which could be interesting but I don't think I want to go there on this forum.

I know what the position of the original posting is - I'm the one that posted it. I think I've been fairly clear in all postings. I'm not shy about it!

Do you have some good reasons why you want to see homosexuals openly serve in the military and why you think this is good move by the President or are you going to keep crying that I've falsely accused you of something? State your case regarding the topic and I'll state mine.
