    Dr Bob,

I believe you might be being harsh on Cutter. If you have not attended the church he is pastor of, then how do you know that it was a waste of time? When one sees that they are under the leadership of a bigot then this may be as close to talking about God as they have been in a long time.

I have to say that Cutter and I disagree, a lot, but I am surprised at the attitude here expressed. What started out as an innocent comment about his sharing a dream has gotten ugly way too fast.

I give no credence to dreams and did not think even from the OP that he/she did. It was simply sharing a dream that is obviously based on something longed for. It is a longing, by the way, that the family of God has shared since the very beginning.

Can we keep our conflicts in other areas out of our fellowship with each other as believers?

It is a sad day when we can not join a fellow Christian in 'looking for that blessed hope and glorious appearing.'

Yea, this is my thought. I didn't see Cutter say that his dream was more authoritative or just as authoritative as Scripture. He just shared a dream, and I don't see any Scripture against doing so.

My guess is that it is not this thread that caused the harsh remarks. It is probably the endless threads of racism and bigotry that have been started by the author of this thread.

I dreamed of the rapture twice. Once was exhillerating. The other was funny---just as it was about to take place, a flash of light filled my bedroom. I sat straight up in bed and yelled, "I'm ready!" Then I realized that it was the headlights of a car driving down my road. Kind of a silly thing to explain to one's husband in the middle of the night. Snort.

My Dad (a former preacher) used to have dreams about getting up to preach and having to hide the broken zipper of his slacks.

I don't think I'd share any of the above with my SS class, though. :)

A serious comment about dreams, as this has been a fun thread. The only thing I can conclude about the origin of dreams is the different events of this world coming together to make a sometimes very strange story. Some events in my life seem to appear in every dream that made a big impression. For example, the winds of Hurricane Camille show up in every dream in one form or another. Sometimes it is the way the hurricane felt, and sometimes it is looking in the distance and seeing funnel clouds approaching the building that I am in. Sometimes relatives who have long ago gone to be with the Lord will appear in a dream as if they were alive, but I know, even dreaming, that they are dead. It is usually one of my grandparents.

Sometimes the dream will take the form of being back in the service, and not being able to leave. It varies all the time.

I will make two comments about strange events that have happened to me in relation to dreams. The first is that when a dream is over one night, the next night the story will pick right back up where it left off, sort of like a soap opera. (No, I absolutely do not watch them). Another strange thing that has happened is for say a few minutes the next day, an exact sequence of events will occur that I dreamed the night before, but it does not happen often or last too long.

As far as the spiritual aspect of dreams, no doubt the Lord can use them as He sees fit, like He can anything else. I can't honestly say I have had dreams about the Rapture or a future life in heaven.

I have found that if I don't like the direction my dream is going, I can stop, rewind and go in a different direction. Is that weird or what?

    Don't answer that.

I guess that I am just not on here enough to keep up with what is going on, but I checked out Cutter's other posts. Instead of hostility, we should be praying for him to see people as our Lord does.

Since i used Joseph to defend Cutter, I would also point out to Cutter that Joseph inter-racially married in Egypt and his heirs were considered a part of God's people. God has shown that He is ultimately concerned with the heart not the skin.

As I said before, I may be closed minded in the opposite direction. The things I saw as a young child in the 50s and 60s in Mississippi made a big impression on me, and the older I got, and angrier I got. Arrogance, racism, bigotry, and pride have long been my pet peeves, and it seems I can spot them a mile away. I have an instant dislike for such people, and readily admit this is a problem in my life, although the Lord has gotten me to take a second look at these people, because they too are His Creation, and some His children. So, in that light, I may have been too harsh on Cutter also, but the less anger I have towards this, maybe the other person will start to see others for their soul, not their outward appearance.

"And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; yea, and on my menservants and my maidservants in those days I will pour out my Spirit; and they shall prophesy" (Acts 2:17-18).
