    Hello,

I have been looking for good books about Christian Women and for Christian Women. Are there any biographies out there about christian women? Has anyone read any good books about being a woman used of God? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. [IMG]

    Thanks, Tammy

    I echo HCL choices...

I love *The Excellent Wife* by Martha Peace
Also another of her books that I have just recently studied is *Attitudes of a Transformed Heart*...very good, also!

I like Susan Hunt's books. *Spiritual Mothering* is one on women mentoring women, biblically. *The True Woman* is also good.

I also echo HCL book on Amy Carmichael, amazing true story on her life.

Women being used by God...how about biographies on:

    Amy Carmichael
    Florence Nightingale
    Fanny Crosby
    Betty Stam
    Just to name a few.

I absolutely enjoyed Corrie Ten Boom's "The Hiding Place". I practically devoured the book in a matter of a few days! I think you would enjoy the book.

I also like books by Elizabeth George . . . A Woman After God's Heart is the first one I read . . . you can see all her stuff at www.elizabethgeorge.com . . . She also has a bible study series based on specific books of the bible.

You may also want to check out "Mrs C.H. Spurgeon" by Charles Ray. It is a fasinating book of the hardships and life of the wife of one of modern history's greatest preachers.

Thanks for the reminder! I have that book! Haven't got to finish it yet, but what I've read so far is a blessing! Isn't this a reprint of a previously published book?
