(PRWEB) - Utica, NY (PRWEB) May 22, 2006 -- Although the Bush administration continues to exploit September 11 to justify domestic spying, unprecedented spending and a permanent state of war, a new Zogby poll reveals that less than half of the American public trusts the official 9/11 story or believes the attacks were adequately investigated.

911Truth.org Urges 2006 Reform Candidates to Recognize a Powerful New Constituency

The poll is the first scientific survey of Americans' belief in a 9/11 cover up or the need to investigate possible US government complicity, and was commissioned to inform deliberations at the June 2~4 "9/11: Revealing the Truth, Reclaiming Our Future" conference in Chicago. Poll results indicate 42% believe there has indeed been a cover up (with 10% unsure) and 45% think "Congress or an International Tribunal should re-investigate the attacks, including whether any US government officials consciously allowed or helped facilitate their success" (with 8% unsure). The poll of American residents was conducted from Friday, May 12 through Tuesday, May 16, 2004. Overall results have a margin of sampling error of +/- 2.9. All inquiries about questions, responses and demographics should be directed to Zogby International.

According to Janice Matthews, executive director of 911truth.org, "To those who have followed the mounting evidence for US government involvement in 9/11, these results are both heartening and frankly quite amazing, given the mainstream media's ongoing refusal to cover the most critical questions of that day. Our August 2004 Zogby poll of New Yorkers showed nearly half believe certain US officials 'consciously' allowed the attacks to happen and 66% want a fresh investigation, but these were people closest to the tragedy and most familiar with facts refuting the official account. This revelation that so many millions nationwide now also recognize a 9/11 cover up and the need for a new inquiry should be a wake up call for all 2006 political candidates hoping to turn this country around. We think it also indicates Americans are awakening to the larger pattern of deceit that led us into Constitutional twilight and endless war, and that our independent media may have finally come of age."

    Billions for investigations;
    only Millions for defense --

    sorry, I'm not impressed.
    How about some anti-zionist terrorists
blew up a lot of American Jews?

    How about, Get Real?
(sorry, that was the sunday school lessong
    last sunday)

I just took a poll of four of my friends.
    According to that unscientific poll,
projected on the American people as a whole
    I can say:

    "240 MILLION Americans think that
    911Truth.org should correct their name
    to 911Lies.org."

This wasn't meant to impress anyone Ed. Besides I think that Janice Matthews was talking to "To those who have followed the mounting evidence for US government involvement in 9/11" not those who continually try to deny it like it doesn't even exist. ;)

This isn't the "scoop" I was talking about earlier in another thread BTW, that one has to do with FEMA recruiting pastors. So, if you aren't working directly for the government already here comes your chance!

What's developing here? Another JFK conspiracy idiocacy? Islam is an evil religion; Muslim terrorists connected to Al Quaeda got through to the USA, took advantage of flght training and all these goodies we throw at foreigners, planned the attacks over many months, thinking of their 70 virgins they're going to spend an eternity (with -edited LE), but fortunately, justly, they are tormented in hell. To that particular place, too, with your OP stupidity.

Below was taken from the end of the OP's link.

“This is a telephone survey of adults nationwide conducted by Zogby International. The target sample is 1,200 interviews with approximately 81 questions asked. Samples are randomly drawn from telephone Cd's of national listed sample. Zogby International surveys employ sampling strategies in which selection probabilities are proportional to population size within area codes and exchanges. As many as six calls are made to reach a sampled phone number. Cooperation rates are calculated using one of AAPOR’s approved methodologies1 and are comparable to other professional public-opinion surveys conducted using similar sampling strategies.2 Weighting by region, party, age, race, religion, and gender is used to adjust for non-response. The margin of error is +/- 2.9 percentage points. Margins of error are higher in sub-groups.”

    I find several statements interesting

    1. Why does it take 81 questions to determine someone thinks there is a conspiracy in 9/11 proceedings. This is clearly a case where the purpose of the poll was disguised with random questions that were looking for trigger words.
    2. As many as six calls are made to the same number why not go to the next number could it be you want to enter you own ideas based on results you have already determined you want.
    3. Weighting by region, party, age, race, religion and gender is used to adjust for non-response.

If they don’t answer we will answer for you.

Yep every thing seems above board to me I don’t see any way they could manipulate this poll. Duh! Sure I think Jam=ne Fonda was a loyal American. Get a clue this is a trumped up poll. Ed’s proclamation that it should be 911lies.com is a fair evaluation to me.

Want some fun Google 314-308-4893 Micheal Berger’s phone number and see what comes up you would think in the USA that number would only belong to one person. But alas it does not seem so.

When one checks on Michaels contemporary’s you find a Jean Brouillet (650) 857-0927, it would seem Ms Brouillet has demanded a congressional investigation of 9-11 and she is the co-founder of International Media Project a pro-activist organization. Her phone number is also the number listed for organizing demonstrations against the Flight 93 movie (surely she a staunch American).

Ignorance is acceptable we are all ignorant of many things but gullibility is a shame to the OP and its supporters.

The numbers in this poll seem to be about the same as all the other polls on this or like topics when put together and averaged out. Are they rigging them all to arrive at these numbers? And if so why?

I tell you what Poncho lets get 20 members of this board to call 50 people randomly over the next two weeks and have them ask one question and get a yes or no answer. Do you believe the administration knew that America was going to be attacked by terrorists?

When the answers are tabulated from 20 independent sources with a simple yes or no you will find these so called polls are a mockery. I personally know of know one who thinks America knew of the attack before hand.

I would guess so Poncho and not to mention most in the churches these days dont want to believe that they have been lied too when it concerns George Bush.

So they will believe any lie that the talking heads or the government spews out at them as long as they can have their precious fairy tail of a Christian president ruling in this time of trouble.

The poll is meaningless - that is what it means.

    written earlier:

    Poncho: //This isn't the "scoop"
I was talking about earlier in another thread BTW,
that one has to do with FEMA recruiting pastors.

//So, if you aren't working directly for the government
    already here comes your chance!//

I hereby make official announcement of my Pending retirement from
the US Government after 34 years of service.
The last day of formal/direct work will be 2 August 2006.
I have spent over 36 years of my life preparing for or working
within the US government to prevent happening of
    what Poncho preaches has happened.

Keep your seat, no need to applaud my efforts ;) [IMG] ;)

Well, congrats Ed! Are you going to choose the golden subdermal microchip or the silver framed copy of the now meaningless U.S. Constitution as a retirement gift?

Gosh why dont some of you just pack up and move? Youre starting to sound like David Koresh, without the I am Jesus part.

Nobody has ever polled me, but if these people had to ask me 80 something questions to determine that, Id want to know why they were so thickheaded. Just ask the question, how can this be so hard?

I didnt care for the first inquiry into it. I thought it was a meaningless gesture toward the grieving families. The only thing that might have made a difference is if somehow by investigating 19 men taking over 4 jets and crashing them into buildings and the ground, that it would also bring the dead back. And we all know that isnt going to happen.

It served no purpose then, and it serves no purpose now.

They knew an attack was likely to be attempted. I doubt they knew exactly what form it was going to take.

There is an art as well as a science (math - statistics & demographics) to polling. Some polls are designed to influence opinions (push-polls), others are designed to elicit them. Zogby is a well-respected eliciter.

I don't understand your position on this - do you think the facts are undeterminable or irrelevent?
