There's a lot that Jesus did that none of us can or even would do.

If I saw Ben Laden, my first thought would not be to wash his feet nor even witness to him.

But I would pray over his dead body thanking God that this evil man had met his just reward.

No, only because of the work of Christ.

Hmmm.....thanks for the candor. Many of us would react that way.

    But should we?

    No joke.

So...anyone else see anything besides supposed blasphemy in this picture? Isn't it a fair symbol of the love and service Jesus humbled himself to offer all of us?

That is exactly what I was saying in my reply on the first page.

But he answered and said, I was not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
    Mt 15:24

Christ came unto His own. Not to the Greeks, or the Romans, or the Persians, or the Egyptians; He came to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. It's like the brazen serpent that was lifted up in the wilderness; it wasn't made or lifted up for the Greeks, or the Romans, or the Persians, or the Egyptians; it was lifted up for Israel.

Glory Hallelujah! Americans actually exhibiting righteous anger! Maybe there is hope for us after all!

Serves them right. Maybe they'll think twice before they resort to such radical deceitful tactics such as this profane cartoon again.

Maybe there is hope for us after all!

Well, duh, yeah. And they are correct. He wouldn't wash the feet of that murderous, treacherous, scheming, killer of thousands of innocent people! And it has nothing to do with patriotism.

14 Be not unequally yoked with unbelievers: for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? or what communion hath light with darkness?15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what portion hath a believer with an unbeliever?
16 And what agreement hath a temple of God with idols? for we are a temple of the living God; even as God said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
17 Wherefore Come ye out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, And touch no unclean thing; And I will receive you,
18 And will be to you a Father, And ye shall be to me sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. 2 Cor 6

I have been thinking about this picture quite a bit. Sometimes I engage my mouth (or fingers) :type: before I think things through. I am now thinking that the picture may have had a two fold purpose: one to spark discussion like we have had and to make us think about Jesus being a servant to all.

    Hardsheller...

You would refuse to witness...share the gospel with a lost sinner...Bin Laden???

I assume that you are saying that you would kill him yourself, without sharing the gospel with him...

...and you would be joyfull that he is in Hell.

You do realise, dont you, that if it were not for Gods grace and mercy extended to us...YOU (and me) would end up in a burning Hell, because it would be YOUR "just reward"?

And you do realise that God has told us that as WE have recieved mercy, we should extend mercy to others, dont you?

I'm glad I see things much differently than you do.

"... I thank thee, that I am not as the rest of men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week; I give tithes of all that I get....."

    One question for you.

Do you immediately offer, without fail, Jesus Christ as Savior to every single person that you meet? If you sincerely believe that you carry the antodote to the fatal sting and it is your God given duty to bring as many as possible to Christ and save them from eternity in hell any answer other than the affirmative is a miserable failure on your part.

    kyredneck...

Well, I see my post touched a nerve in at least 1 persons heart.

Even made him post a *foul* word.

No problem there, I've heard more foul words than I could ever count in my life. I used to use much worse than that one regularly back when I was lost.

    No problem at all.

Let me ask you, kyredkneck...would YOU share the Gospel with Osama Bin Laden?

Then I fail to see your point.

(Actually, I see your point, I fail to see any logic or relevence in it.)

I'd pull the .22 mag mini-revolver from my pocket and hold him at gunpoint until the authorities arrived and in the meantime I'd call for backup from family and friends for more firepower to hold him with, and if he made a wrong move; well, it wouldn't be the gospel he'd get.

As far as the painting cited in the OP, might as well picture Osama receiving communion.

Christ's washing the disciples' feet had nothing to do with the offer of the Gospel to the world. It is the privilege of sanctification, and of intimate fellowship that is offered only to those who are already made whole and have a part in Christ, who are already clean every whit.

The painting is saying that these world leaders and butchers have fellowship with Christ. It is indeed blasphemous. It's interesting that those who claim to know Christ and boast of intimate fellowship with Him would try to defend the painting.

    Kyredkneck...

Thats the spirit..more firepower. No sharing the gospel...more firepower!

Of course not...blow his brains out.

By the way...I'm just wondering. Do you actually walk around with "firepower" in your pocket all the time??? The way you brought it up, it gave the impression you are always "packin", so to speak.

Do you walk around ARMED all the time?

I happen to live in the great wonderful state of Kentucky as you do, and I dont know ANYONE who walk around "packin" all the time. I sure dont. Its unimaginable.

It has nothing to do with the topic. so if you dont want to get into it, thats fine. No big deal.

You live in Kentucky? Surely you jest. Firearms should be no shocker to you.

My wife and I are both licensed concealed carry, and that for very good reason.

[edit] ...and the reason I choose to carry the North American Arms .22 mag mini-revolver is solely because of it's small size; I ALWAYS HAVE IT ON ME (even at Church [gasp]).
