New thread...the other one was a wee bit too long -

We had grillled pork chops, pasta salad for my hubby and a baked
potato for me.....I worked a 12 hour shift yesterday and didn't feel
    like doing much....:tongue3:

We have a little diner in town and the owner knows how much I love fried green tomatoes. Her husband (the cook) concocted a "new" sandwich and I had one for dinner tonight. It was to die for. Probably has a million fat grams and will make me gain 5 pounds, but it was so worth it! I'll post the recipe here:

    fried green tomato sandwich

    2 slices sourdough bread (grilled)
    2 slices fried green tomatoes
    crisp bacon
    mayonaise

I made sweet and sour chicken and chicken not-fried rice.

The sweet and sour chicken is a WW recipe usually made in the crockpot, lots of broccoli in it. The chicken not-fried rice is basically white rice made using chicken stock instead of water with chopped scallions, garlic, and soy sauce added in before cooking it (my wife does not like rice but she will eat this all by itself).

We tried stuffed portobellos the other night with some modifications and they were so delicious! Thank you FoG.

Tonight is probably do-it-yourself. We had friends visiting from out of state, delayed by an accident so I'd bought a variety of cold meats, cheeses, nuts and fruits to have ready so they could pick and choose stuff right away since they'd spent dinner time in traffic. There's plenty left over so double blessing...got to spend some sweet time together and now I don't have to cook.

We always call it Hamburger Accomplice, then there's it's neighbor Tuna Assasin.

I think I'm going to try Trotter's Pizza Tater Tot Casserole tonight.

Baked salmon and crab pinwheels (kinda like a thin crab cake and salmon fillet stacked, rolled, and sliced), with rice and a salad.

I wish I could still eat corn beef hash!:( With everyone in my family dropping like fly's from heart attacks my wife no longer servers me these delicious delicacies.

I must say though she has learned to make healthy good tasting meals, it was very rough there for a while.:tongue3:

We had soup. Hubby had some minor surgery yesterday and wanted something light. Tomorrow night it's eye roast, gravy, mashed potatoes or noodles, and green beans. Lemon water ice for dessert.
