    SFIC,

You are mistaking my annoyance with hurt feelings. Although I am surprised that a good Christian, such as yourself, would not apologize for hurting another brother or sister in Christ. You are right none of us are truly worthy of God's grace. However, in this case I feel no conviction from God. There is no need for you to try and convict me, or anyone else. You may choose not to watch Crash for whatever reason, that is between you an God. Permit me the same courtesy, without all the useless babble on how YOU feel a true Christian should act.

[IMG] Very good, I agree. </font>[/QUOTE]That was the point! They were not trying to be subtle. I would have thought that was obvious. Subtle messages are not always the most thought provoking ones, and this movie was intended to be thought provoking. The message was never intended to be delivered in a subtle manner. Why do you think it was named "Crash"?

I am white, but I saw it with my black husband. He thinks the same way about it, as I do.

2 Thessalonians 2:10-12 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Matthew 7:21-23 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

I felt insulted (almost), as though I was that guy from "A Clockwork Orange" forced to watch the violent movies with my eyes pryed open.

Sometimes Hollywood needs a better audience that what it has. Subtlety is uncommon with the big movies simply because it would sail right over the heads of the audiences. Movies with one-liners and explosions make money, movies that require thought go straight to video.

James I agree. Hollywood has this formula, and if you don't conform to it, your movie is doomed from the start. Which is too bad, because there are some really great indie films out there that no one sees. Crash was not for everyone. Personally I don't think it would have done nearly as well if it had had a subtle message. The analogy you gave was what the producers and writers intended the audience to feel. They wanted people to be forced into really looking at racism. Again, the approach is not for everyone.

The Holy Bible has the formula, and if one does not conform to it, one's soul is doomed.

The culture of this world ridicules Christians because they are spiritually dead and the enemies of Christ. Understanding them is not going to change that. Only the regenerating power of God will do that.

Does that matter to you, and if so, why? Is the implication that if a black person were to post that they would automatically be in favor of a movie that seems to be in a contest to see how many "F" words they can speak in about 2 hours?

Funny, I never hear them say that. How is trying to force our feelings about culture onto them helping our ministry? No unbeliever I have heard has said they are enemies of christ, if they even acknolwedge he is a real person, they say they're against patriarchism, or thestic tolteranism (v for vendetta, slightly). Isnt trying to make them say our version abuse?

    1. The Bible says that the lost are enemies of Christ:

    Romans 8:5-8

    2. Nobody said that we should try and make them say our version. As a matter of fact, unless they are saved by the Grace of God from their sinful minds, they will never accept Jesus or our version. Neither, however, should we be conformed to the wickedness of the world. We are to be seperate from the wickedness, and certainly should not revel in it.

    Romans 8:9-17

but if wickidness is all that defines them, we have no power to relate to them or their lifestyle, so how can they be reached?

Amen, Joseph. One does not have to say they are an enemy of Christ to be an enemy of Christ.

If one makes no choice at all, one has made a choice.

    No decision is a decision.

His name is Jesus. You can read about him in the Bible. I think you missed the point. It was not the power of Paul that saved the lost folks in Corinth. It was the power of God. Here is a good link if you would like to read more of the Bible online:

Umm, well, I guess that's ok if you like propaganda and being condescended to. I prefer art produced by people who don't have quite such an obvious moral superiority complex.
