I believe John the Apostle wrote Revelation. When the book was accepted into the canon, the list of biblical books, it was believed to be written by the Apostle.

One of the many sins men commit is to dress up their writings with claims, i.e. I have a PhD, or I served in Viet Nam. Back in the day, they would attribute their writings to well know experts, thus 3d century works are attributed to 1 century folks. So a problem for me is the Clinton like lie, saying John and allow others to infer it was John the Apostle.
Note, James and Jude did not make a big deal with being born of Mary and the brother (half brother) of Jesus, Luke and John Mark presented their work as themselves and the author of Hebrews did not claim he was someone special, i.e. an Apostle.

    Do you have scripture ?

What are you calling scripture ?

Since all scripture is given by inspiration of God, explain how a translation or a reconstructed Greek N.T. Is given by inspiration of God.

Scripture is the sacred writings....in other words, the WORDS of God. It's the words that are God breathed. It's the words. These words have been translated into English for us. The English words themselves are not inspired, but are a translation of inspired words.

If only the original manuscripts were given by inspiration of God

then you do not have scripture.

    -------------------------------

#1. You cannot honestly state you have scripture if you believe
only the original manuscripts were given by inspiration of God.
    There are no original manuscripts.

KJV But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty,
    not walking in craftiness,nor handling the word of God deceitfully;
but by manifestation of the truth commendingourselves
to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

#2. You cannot honestly say "the bible" or "all bibles"
are given by inspiration of God.
There are over 400 (Christian, Catholic, Cult) Greek, Syrian,
Latin, German, English, French, Spanish, etc. bibles
which do not match in content, volume or doctrine.

#3. You cannot honestly say "the Greek N.T." or "all N.T. Greek texts"
are given by inspiration of God. There are over 24 reconstructed (Christian, Catholic, Cult) Greek N.T. texts which do not match in content,
    volume or doctrine.

#4. All KJV Holy Bibles are editions of the 1611 KJV first edition.
The human finger prints (typographical errors, spelling errors,
missing words, etc.) further document the testaments and covenants
(records) between God and man. While the 1769 KJV Holy Bible
standardized spelling, corrected printer’s errors and is the select text today,
the text of the AV 1611 KJV first edition remains the principal canon authority
of Holy Scripture. There were no manuscript revisions of the 1611 KJV
until the 1881 RV (Revised Version), only spelling, measurements
    and punctuation editions.

KJV For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God:
but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.

#5. God's words were given by inspiration of God.
KJV All scripture is given by inspiration of God,
and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction,
    for instruction in righteousness:

#6. God predestined certain individuals to record the words of God.

KJV Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God,
according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus,

KJV Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called:
and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified,
    them he also glorified.

KJV According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world,
that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

#7. God providentially preserved and canonized the words of scripture.

KJV The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace
of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD,
thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

KJV Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,

#8. Inspiration, predestination, providence and preservation
continued throughout final canonization (books and words)
    and publication of scripture.

    KJV For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me;
and they have received them, and have known surely that I came
out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.

KJV Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

#9. The words of the AV 1611 KJV Holy Bible
were divinely transmitted, infallible, infinite and eternal.

KJV Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God,
be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

#10. KJV Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
The Record Theory independently answers the questions of final authority
and final canonization (books and words). The dynamic Purified Text Theory
supports the Record Theory, demonstrated categorically and conclusively
in the manuscript evidence, bible canonization, bible doctrine,
billions of bibles and computational linguistics.

Oh look! Makahiya is online again today. Wonder if he’ll reply to my questions or continue to ignore me? Oh well, since he’s posting scripture like it is supposed to mean something, I have some for him:

    The Word was first,
    The Word present to God,
    God present to the Word.
    The Word was God,
In readiness for God from day one.
    Everything was created through him;
    Nothing---not one thing!---
    Came into being without him.
What came into existence was Life,
And the Life was Light to live by.
    The Life-Light blazed out of the darkness;
The darkness couldn’t put it out.

Hmmm, I bet you’ll need a KJV translation since you don’t read plain English:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

Now, are you seriously trying to tell me that the Holy Spirit can’t work through the first because it came from the Message as well as He can work through the second because it came from the KJV?? Really?? You want to place those limits on the Holy Spirit? Remember, He’s God too and by definition is all-powerful……….

I still have not had one KJo person show me where in scripture you can find a reference to the KJV, or any process whereby a person could know WHICH set of documents in the future would be the "inerrant" or proper ones to use, or whether any translation from the original manuscripts would be given an official sanction by God.

I contend that the answer to all important doctrinal questions is found within the 66 books of the Bible, and that the people of the second century AD had all they needed to understand all those doctrines, the same as we do, and that any teaching that does not base itself on the content of the Holy Scriptures, is, at best, a minor doctrine, and not worthy of divisions among believers. I also believe that anyone who makes a major doctrine out of a minor doctrine or teaching, or anyone who claims the authority of God in a matter in which God is silent within the texts of the 66 books of Scripture, is in error, whether or not he is right or wrong about the subject matter at hand.

    Chew on that.

The Scriptures do not teach that the English words in the 1611 edition of the KJV were "divinely transmitted, infallible, infinite, eternal."

Your making of a claim does not make it true. You have not presented any sound, scriptural case for your theory.

Are you trying to suggest that the actual errors in the 1611 edition of the KJV kept from the 1602 edition of the Bishops' Bible were "divinely transmitted" and "infallible"?

    Bibles on the Mayflower-1620 A.D.

One account: the New Testament Church, 35 members, which had fled from to England to Holland, back to England to go to the colonies had a Geneva Bible(s). This is the Bible which King James disliked and ordered what was to become the KJV(1611) in its several editions.

Final Authority: The Word of God is eternal.

    End of kibbitz.

    Even so, come Lord Jesus.

Where does the Greek NT and Hebrew and Aramaic OT fit in? I've got a feeling that they preceded the KJV by at least 1500 years.
