Yep, supporting and providing for illegal entry into the country for the sole purpose of political gain is nothing but traitor.

Seems a bit of an over statement to me, but ok.

I do not like overstatements. When you are willing to load the country up with people illegally in order to gain political power to push an agenda contrary to the founding of this country and constitution then that is nothing but traitor. There is just no other word for it.

I've never been a fan of amnesty in general, so the proposed Senate immigration reform bill is a disappointment. We need a more restrictive immigration policy in general. The bill would open the floodgates for legal immigrants. The problem with that is we have enough people and a not-so-good economy. It is the height of stupidity to import people when we don't have enough jobs for the ones already here. To be clear, I'm not arguing for zero immigration, but we can't accept a massive influx of immigrants, legal or not.

In spite of my anti-amnesty stance, I can accept a pathway to citizenship as a compromise if it also entails truly securing the border and a more restrictive legal immigration policy. However, the current Senate proposal falls short.

Why do we feel obligated to pass a law that breaks present immigration law and the Constitution? The reason is because we failed to enforce the borders for decades during the reign of both parties.

Throw the immigration bill in the garbage. Use every military cargo plane, ship, and any other means of transportation we have and drop them off in Mexico, Hispanola, Jamacia until all 12 million or so of them are gone, then start defending the borders as we should.

What gives politicians the right to pass a bill that covers up years of them not doing their jobs?

That's right, and to gain a base large enough to prevail, it must be composed of those who come to simply kill, steal or destroy.

Not sure kill steal and destroy is the motive. Perhaps eat, work and provide. Can't make progress if we paint with too broad a brush.

Up here in North Florida, we don't have as many illegals as you people do down there.

I know, but the border wasn't really secured. I would prefer to not do amnesty, but if it's part of a package that really secures the border, I could live with it.

That was part of the deal back in '86.
Its just like a parent saying "if you don't behave - you are going to get a spanking" and never following thru - for the next 15 years.

My solution is very simple - if you are illegal - you receive no govt benefits- (welfare, food stamps, ect) no schooling allowed for children, ect. Law should be changed do that children born of two foreign parents (legal or otherwise) are NOT citizens. Take away the incentive for being in this county - and that will keep people from coming in.

You know, I do not know about all areas. Out here for some they admit the goal is to use manifest destiny to reclaim the south west.
If it was just some guys making the claim I would ignore the idea however they are teaching it to their children.
The children actually say things like, whitey needs to go home because this land belongs to Mexico and Mexico is going to take it back.

Follow the law or get put on the fastest transport back to where you came from.
If they can pay a coyote to get here they can pay to go through the regular LEGAL process as well.

    I agree

but we are off the OP - Crabby was telling us about famous people who at one point were illegal.
Since they became famous - should we look the other way?

I refer you to post #7 of this thread that Crabby has not answered; making me assume that, for him anyway, any "greats" lost by abortion are ok, just not those potential losses by enforcing immigration laws!?
