Dad had been telling his Cardiologist something was amiss with his heart for awhile. his heart would flutter, and he began getting dizzy and passing out for five seconds or so. The doctor placed a monitor on dad for a day no results. T dad insisted that something was wrong with his heart and the doctor relented and placed dad on an event thing that recorded his heart rate for a month. We were on vacation part of the time Part of the event kit was a smart phone like thing that relayed dad's EKG//ECG heart rate to a place in Phoenix to the doctor's office. Last t
Thursday or Friday the doctor's office called and told dad the doctor wanted to see him this past Tuesday. The doctor showed dad the chart that showed his heart rate and told him he would operate on dad today. the dual pacemaker was supposed to be placed underneath dad's left collar bone. and has leads/wires. Dad called today and is quite sore to say the lest. Keep dad in your prayers please.
    Thank you
    Faithgirl

I will pray for your dad. He should be fine.

Let me just tell you that when my dad got his pacemaker, it was the best thing that ever happened to him. We knew something was wrong, but he didn't.

He has more energy and pep and says that he had no idea what a bad shape he was in until he got the pacemaker.

I'm praying for your dad right now.

You and Dad are in my prayer. My Mom had to have one because her heart rate was dropping below 40 beats per minute and she would pass out! The pacemaker fixed the problem.

Thank you for praying Scarlett. The doctor cut into dad's shoulder muscles to find a pocket to place the dual 2 way pacemaker in.

Dear Faithgirl...it is sad that your dad had to just about beat the cardiologist concerning his arrythmias....why those halter monitors are so useful.

The pacemaker site will be sore, your pa should have regular mild analgesia. The bruising will settle, keep an eye on the wound for signs of redness, heat and general inflammation...avoid getting it wet until his nurse says it is okay.

Your dad will have to carry some documentation and DONT ever miss a regular checkup....the pacemaker has a power source which needs monitoring. Again, the cardiologist should have some protocols for this.

I am pleased that he has had his concerns heeded. Remember too, one can always get a second opinion, the specialist may get a little miffed about this, but you have employed him, not the other way around. A good cardiologist will not be concerned about it.

I pray your dad will feel very much the better for the implant, more energy etc.:wavey: I worked in this field for many years as a nurse, cardiothoracic surgery and cardiac care. It is always good when you can make things better for a client.
