I have been on a Baptist (Not BB) FB page. One member started a post on KJO. Well, I was in a discussion with him. He gave me the old - its 400 years old , all others are perverted, ect. When I asked some pointed question - he was unable to answer them. So he did the only thing he could do. He deleted the post.

    Any thoughts

Their parameters are rather small and irrationality dogs their every step.

    ^What they said.

That's the problem with trying to debate on social media. If you're the admin and you don't like a contrary opinion - *POOF* - they're gone.

It's funny you bring this up because I noticed a post of mine was deleted the in the last day or two on the FB page of Answers in Genesis. I wasn't even disagreeing with AIG's stance on this particular issue, I was just remarking on the awful uncharitable stance many of the commenters had. Apparently that was too much for some reason.

Deleting posts, banning those who disagree, etc. is the CLUELESS COWARD'S attempted way out. I have been banned from 29 sites & counting for my anti-KJVO myth views, and I'm proud of it, as the cluelessness & cowardice of those folks has thus been exposed. Over half those sites are now defunct.

I want to offer a bit of possible praise, because to delete a mistaken view shows more maturity that sticking with an obviously absurd view. We tend to be provincial, my way or the highway, slandering those who hold differing views.

Like many of you, I believe the KJV preferred/only view arises from being unwilling to leave the past behind, and push on toward the goal of Christian maturity.

I recall a story from the Civil War, where Union troops were making camp, when a General came through. He looked at the troops, rested and fit, and saw they were making a good job of putting up their tents.

He smiled and said, "Don't drive those tent-stakes too deep, boys, we are moving up in the morning."

Ponder on what you have just said and make an application.

    Same ole, same ole...

I guess some things never change! I haven't been on here since December of 2013 I think it says and probably won't be back again anytime soon. I've found a more useful way to spend my time in ministry on-line that reaches a far greater audience and offers far more flexibility in God's service. Ya'll may think I'm crazy...doesn't matter though. Facebook has become my on-line home and ministry. Besides...for Bible believers such as myself it is a much more friendly place for the most part. This forum almost made me want to quit the internet altogether. I see this section of the forum is still inhabited by smug self-righteous people who can find nothing better to do than spend time berating people who believe they have the perfect Word of God in their hands. In all the time I previously spent here I read or saw NOTHING that shook my God-given faith in that....not even CLOSE. Ya'll try not to hurt yourselves patting yourselves on the back. I will also apologize for my current lack of humility. This place just makes me sad. By the way (maybe I'm a glutton for punishment) I'm easy to find on Facebook...just look up Gregory Perry Sr. Y'all have a nice day.

Greg Sr. (this post may fill my quota for 2014....maybe)

    Welcome Back?

I have to translate that for people who aren't familiar with GPS. He means by the phrase "Bible believers" KJVO. Those who don't subscribe to that mindset are not Bible believers according to his point of view.
Of course when we find error we want to expose it as error. You think that people who prefer other versions of the Bible to be inferior --just as their Bible versions are. But you, in your pride, cannot recognize that the Lord, in His perfect providence has raised up other Bible translations that are far better in communicating the Word of God to people of today.
Belief in KJVOism is not God-given. The Lord doesn't bless that false teaching.

Thanks For Illustrating my point perfectly

Rippon...thank you for being the "poster child" for the point I was making in my post. We will probably all continue believing as we do and I'm sure both of us are equally certain that each other is wrong in our conclusions. Make no mistake...ONE of us is indeed wrong and the other right. The argument is far too polarized to ever be resolved in human terms......and yes...I DO believe I am right and that you and your "camp" is wrong. It is really not worth wasting my valuable time here arguing with anybody over. I'm just thankful that I can control the truth I share with others when I recommend to all who will listen WHICH Bible they should use if they speak English in this dispensation. NONE of the newer "Bibles" are up to the standard of the KJV. I will also tell you that I believe that you and Robycop ( to name a few) are two of the most mean-spirited human beings I have ever encountered anywhere. Ya'll are no better than you would probably accuse Pete Ruckman of being. I've said enough...probably more than enough. The King James Bible IS the perfect and preserved Word of God. Of that I am 1000% certain. I shall now withdraw again and resume my normally humble attempt, by the grace of God, of trying to live in accordance with and in obedience to it's precepts and principles. I just remembered why I haven't posted here in so long. Thus ends my conversation on this matter here. Goodnight and goodbye (at least in the translations forum)

I will do some further clarification of GPS's beliefs.

    He has said :

"I do not acknowledge that there are ANY mistakes or errors in it [KJV]. I will not entertain anyone telling me that my Bible contains errors." (10/15/2013)

"I further believe that the ultimate fruit of the MV's will be the One World Church of the Anti-Christ in the fast approaching end-times." (10/17/2009)

I seem to never get the answer back though to which TR is the correct one to use, and which kjv version is the perfect one? 1611/1769/1894?
