I am a follower of Christ's teachings. Read his words and see how we are to treat other people. Admit it Old you do not like his teaching on how we are to treat others.

You're choice to ignore the excellent questions posed to you and instead focus on O/R's rant indicates simplistic thinking.

It is frustrating. I'm willing to be educated on the issue. He just won't answer my question about it.

And the Chinese are appreciative. Here is where the blind neocon allegiance make retards out of normal people. Them there rich folks you all grovel over are sending those jobs to China, India, and parts of Mexico. Which makes me wonder why people freak out over Mexicans coming to America. The country will be empty soon and they will be hiring. We can all head south and build cheap crap for "Americans" to buy at Wal-Mart.

They should be able to send jobs overseas so long as the taxes and regs are as they are. Good for them.

I agree. I do not like Obama's teachings on anything. He is a Marxist and likely a Muslim so he loses on all counts and you follow his teachings more than those of Jesus Christ. Obama is the most rabid abortionist in the country yet you support him. Jesus Christ condemns the killing of the innocent. So which are you following Crabbie. It is not Jesus Christ as you claim.

He sure doesn't agree with the following:

    Proverbs 6:16-19
    16. These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
    17. A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
    18. An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
    19. A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

2 Thessalonians 3:10. For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

1 Timothy 5:8. But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

Of course I do, but that does not negate the teachings of Jesus on how we are to treat and help others who are in need. Agree?

Correct me if I am wrong, but Minnesota has high welfare costs and a high cost of living. Wisconsin is too cold and the Mid West in general has been hit hard by high energy costs since Carter's time and the loss of the industrial base. This is the rust belt.

Taxes are too high throughout the Midwest. Pence needs to lower Indiana's taxes some more. Illinois is going the way of Detroit as Chicago cannot fund their pensions. People are fleeing Chicago, which used to be the city that worked and if you couldn't find a job anywhere else in the USA you could find a job in Chicago. Not anymore--Mexicans are leaving Chicago.

Wisconsin strikes me as rural but it has been years since I was there. Michigan and Illinois are probably the parts of the Midwest in the most trouble. Indiana is doing well but income is below average. We have some low-paying jobs.

Obama has killed the American economy and it is going to get worse. The Democrats insist upon more cheap labor as a means of winning power on the backs of Mexicans--they don't want any additional Cubans who vote GOP, thanks to Kennedy. Also, Obama is going to shut down a half dozen electric plants in Indiana next year, which will hurt all of the Mid West badly. It will also shut down many coal mines nationally.

No, you can't raise taxes in a recession unless you are stupid, and the Democrats are working to put us in a depression with unlimited Mexican labor and a stupid war on coal.

How much do you want to raise taxes?

Let's see, taxes on families after World War II were about 10% and women did not have to work. I can't remember when child labor was finally abolished in this country but we could put children to work to help others who are in need as we have put women to work to pay for all this welfare.

In this area we have a lot of warehouses. There must be 70 different nationalities working there are we are waiting for the lower wages that will be introduced as Obama lets in more Mexicans. Right now wages are between nine and ten dollars an hour in the warehouses. They will go down or stagnate when Obama shuts down the coal industry to prevent global warming.

Rich people do not have to work; the middle class has lost income under the Democrats; and the poor are stuck in jobs that compete with Mexicans. How much more tax should a worker making nine dollars an hour pay?

Until people like Buffet pay the same as their secretaries and clerical staff.

The rich paid more back then. Maybe we should raise their taxes to what it was then. There was economic boom back then.

So, why do you oppose a raising the minimum wage?

The Great Recession under a GOP administration.

The poor are stuck, that is why you must encourage your young people to become educated so they will not become stuck also.

Less than Warren Buffet and the super rich. At the moment they pay less.

That's your economic theory for why the US economy boomed after WWII? High taxes = Economic Growth. LOL!

We were the only country left standing that had manufacturing capability and a workforce.

    Agreed BUT:

    Need is subject to interpretation.
for example, the poor do not NEED a color TV w/cable, a steak dinner every night, the best clothes, ect...

Need is teaching a man how to fish.....

You won't achieve that under the current code, as his secretary pays INCOME tax while Buffett pays mostly CAPITAL GAINS tax. The two are separate, and capital gains is a lower percentage because it is intended to keep the wealthy investing in businesses and technologies that will help to grow our economy.

Do you really think that Buffett's secretary paid more in taxes than he did? Or do you just not get how tax percentages work?

We also had about half the population or less than we do now. In 1945 there were 140-143 million people in the US. In 2010 (the last census) there were 308 million. We've also shifted from mostly agriculture to production to now being a country primarily of financial services. The rules of 1945 economics do not really apply to 2015.

Do you know what the minimum wage is for? It's for teenagers and low skilled workers. It was never intended to be a living wage. No matter what line the Democrats feed you, no one was intended to raise a family on minimum wage. We've come to accept people making irrational monetary decisions and then expecting the government to take care of them. Rich or poor, that should not be.

What poor are stuck? When I worked at a small mom-and-pop sign shop in my hometown, my boss told me about his parents in the 1930s and 1940s. When the depression hit, they packed up and moved from Georgia to Ohio chasing jobs. When jobs began to suffer in Ohio, they packed up again and moved to California. They had no trouble chasing work for their families, but now we are supposed to believe that just can't be done anymore?

Again, Capital Gaines tax vs. Income tax. Learn the difference.

PreachTony, CTB knows this. He's been told this several times. Also, he's a knowledgeable investor. He knows what a capital gains tax is all about. He either forgets when he posts or purposely writes stuff like this to be antagonistic.

I get the same stubborn responses when I explain that cutting income taxes on the wealthy doesn't create many jobs. But it's become a Republican mantra that conservatives blindly accept, much like liberals accept the mantra that the middle class pay more than the rich in taxes.

Matthew 25:45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

Of course you are talking only about income tax.

First - Buffett pays 50% of his secretaries Social Security Tax
Second - Buffett pay a whole lot more than secretaries on property tax - of which a good portion goes to schools -
Third - Since Buffett has more money to spend - he pays a lot more in Sales tax.

    Who wants to mention 4th - 6th
