Do you have date nights?

How often do you and your husband have a date night, out alone without the kids?

I recently found out that apparently this is normal?! My husband and I have not being alone on a "date" for over 5 years. Ever since we had children, everything revolves around family activities. At this point I think it would even feel strange to go out without them. Is this not normal??

We didn't when the kids were little unless my family was able to watch them and we had someplace to be but now that they are older, we definitely do. I think you can have a date night even with the children home by feeding the kids, getting them to bed and then you and hubby enjoying a special meal or dessert together and spend time just talking to each other. You don't have to go out somewhere!! That's what we used to do when the kids were small. :) But now that my youngest is turning 13, we enjoy our date nights together! With 4 kids, it's hard to get time alone and as a pastor and his wife, there are definitely times we need to discuss things without 4 pairs of ears listening in.

We didn't when the kids were little either. Wherever we went our kids went with us. Now that they are grown we have all kinds of alone time. Even though it is nice I miss the kids being little. Those were the best times.

Once a week. It's usually more about trying a new place and spending time together than anything candle lit and formal though. We once went to a Persian restaurant and huffed some strawberry-flavored pear hookah. I love date nights.

Not that often at all. We have 2 kids and 1 on the way and it's hard to get alone time, let alone time alone OUT of the house. We don't know anyone that could watch our kids so that makes it very difficult.

It is completely normal! My husband and I rarely have date nights, I wish that we could but he works long hours and I am usually exhausted from being with our children all day!
Once in awhile my mother in law will take our children and we are able to go out on a date but those times are few and far between. We just make sure that we still connect as a couple by spending time together at home or as a family.
After our children are in bed my husband and I love to watch movies together. Once a week we try to have a little date at home and have dinner and relax together. It is nice, and it helps us connect as a couple.

I like this. You don't have to go out anywhere. As long as you are spending alone time together at the end of the day, that is all that matters. Date nights are home can be a lot of fun too.

I am not married yet, but I am currently dating this guy from my high school. We have been going out for 8 months now, and every week, we would have a date, just a simple dinner, or a little walk at the mall/park.
