With Christmas coming up in a couple of months, I felt it would be a good time to start a thread on the music you church choir members are working on for Christmas in church. My choir is doing music out of two books, Sing Gloria, which was arranged by David Hamilton, and The Gift of Christmas, which is a Prestonwood Choir book and was arranged by Bradley Knight. We aren't doing the entirety of each, but all of the music we're doing comes out of those two books.

The music out of these is just awesome. Some of the music in them ranks among the most complex and artsy-tartsy music we've ever done and I love it.

We're teaming up with the church our church founded some 25 years ago and doing "Mary Did You Know" from Brentwood Music.

"Behold the Lamb of God" by Andrew Peterson is the best advent music I have heard. It is great to work with choirs as well.

Mary Did You Know? Is my favorite song and I have never been disappointed when I heard it performed at a number of different concerts. It is such a beautiful and powerful song.

Went to the Ft. Lauderdale 1st Baptist Christmas pageant this past weekend. It was incredible - one of the best I've ever seen. It's a ticketed event - not cheap, but done on a first class basis. they have somewhere around 15 performances each year and most are sold out. See link below or look it up on youtube.

At our own church, it is on a much smaller scale. This coming weekend, we will have our 39th annual Christmas concerts (two performances), and they are provided as a free gift to the community. It includes our choirs, orchestra and band - performing traditional Christmas songs, solos, jazz, orchestral pieces and favorite sing-a-longs.
